    Army Thread 10th February

hey up Satz, had a good day?
I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.

Biding my time here in office - going to have AL free evening at the cinema . Afraid to go home to empty house yet as my habit was always to open a beer or wine as soon as I hit the kitchen. Heeeeeeeeeelp

                  Evening all,

We're orff to a 60th tonight so I'm just doing me nails and then putting me slap on and me posh frock and doing me hair.

All the neighbours are going so there's a big bus coming at 7.30. It'll be burglar heaven in this street for a few hours.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

                          Hi again Troopers!!

And Bye Molly! You'll be fine, I'm sure.

Pinky - congrats on the good marks.

Satz, sounds like Pinky gave you some good advice. And stick close to the Army if you need company. Always someone around until midnight and past your time. Zennie can be found wandering about the barracks in the wee hours of the morning.

Zennie - looks like we're going to have lousy weather this weekend, too. Was hoping for a trip to the centre of Athens but I don't think it's going to happen. Looks more like we'll be off to the Mall to stay out of the snow.

Jan, if you're reading this, I have to agree with what Zennie said. I've thought for some time that you and Ollie need a break from each other. I think he needs to be put somewhere (I believe a foster home would be the best solution) so that you can get yourself straightened out and so he can experience what it is like to live in an environment where certain things are expected and enforced. Like him being put on a schedule of doing his homework and where he is expected and required to respect those around him. I'm no expert but a few things come to mind that have to do with his sudden mood swings and his lack of respect for you. Mind you, I believe he needs a therapist to help him deal with all that he has gone through and what his feeling are about the past couple off years and what his fears are about today and the future. He has been through an awful lot for a child his age and no doubt has great fear that he may be taken away again for a long time and perhaps forever. I don't know what the law says there about custody for single parents with addictions but the law could be unforgiving. As for his mood swings, I expect his memories of him being taken away from you and not being able to live at home for more than a weekend at a time might be something that is setting him off and these outbursts are from anger about those times and fear that they could happen again. Also, I have often thought that nutrition is very important to anyone's mood swings and especially in children. I'm not criticizing or suggesting that he doesn't eat properly but I've seen him with chocolate products in several pictures and I'm wondering if perhaps there is an issue with sweets and such. Maybe weening him off of them would help somewhat. I know this is terribly hard on you and it is painful for us to read what you are going through. I too, am surprised that nothing was done and that they ignored such a dangerous situation. I would do what someone else suggested and lock up things like knives and scissors and things that he could use to either injure you or himself. I hope your medical tests show that no more damage has been done. Lord knows you've got enough to handle with the way things are between you and Ollie. I hope Bonnie is able to help you and I would be firm with her about having her boyfriend along when she is with Ollie since that seems to upset him. He obviously is demanding a lot of attention from both of you and that has to be dealt with too. That's one of the reasons that I think he would be better in foster care for a short time - say 6 months. Time for you to get things back on track, and maybe have counseling yourself on how to deal with your problems and how to better deal with Ollie. I just hope something is available to you there so that this situation can be reconciled as soon as possible before injury is done to one or both of you. Please keep us posted as to how things go. We are all very concerned about you and Ollie. You must know that. We are all hoping for quick intervention by the available services and for the very best outcome for all of you.
