Hi...
Just wanted to add a blip about the "Teavana" website and tea. If you live in a major city, check on the website and see if you have a store close by. They are usually found in large malls, but not all major cities have them. But IF you can ever drive to one, it is well worth the experience. The one here in my city has about 10 different teas brewed each day that you can sample, and there are people in the store whose job is to be your personal "tea coach" and it is SO much fun. They answer all your questions about the difference between white teas, green teas, red teas, black teas, roobios, etc. ALL of their tea is loose leaf and they store it in big tins. They will let you smell any tea you want to get a feel for what it will taste like. It is so fragrant that many of them almost smell like potpourri for the palette. Like Becca said.... there is simply NO comparison between this stuff and grocery store stuff. I have got a secret little side addiction to it and look forward to the day that is surpasses the wine craving!
Although the teas are expensive, each teaspoon of loose leaf tea can sometimes be steeped up to two three more times. So whenever I want a cup of tea, I use about one teaspoon and get 3 cups of tea out of it before you even begin to notice a decrease in strength. White teas actually have far more antioxidants than green teas (and are a bit more expensive!). Also, strangely, the white teas are the mildest in flavor, so for those of you having a hard time tolerating the green tea, consider ordering some white tea from Teavana as every one I have tried never has a bitter flavor at all!
They also sell cast iron teapots from china which have the little strainer in the teapot to put your leaves in and it keeps it hot for up to an hour and half, which I love. They are very expensive, but I got my husband to get me one for a fraction of the price when he went to China in November. Makes the experience so much fun. You can get these off of Ebay for much less if you want one as well...
Okay, somebody stop me!
