Just Like a Swimming Pool.
That was absolutely beautiful and so encouraging to us at the shallow end. Thank you for sharing.I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!
There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still.

That is a fantastic analogy..
Which can be related to giving up any addiction.. like me with cigarettes.. I didn't think I could cope with life without them.. but now I am on Day 5 and feel like I am swimming laps of the pool with that one!
With AL.. I am also getting there.. I am building in confidence, and happiness in direct proportion.. I feel so much happier now than when I first joined 3 months ago.. I was full of fear, but now I am much more optimistic..
Thank you for sharing an amazing way of looking at things,

Just Like a Swimming Pool.
I'm still around and I still check into the swimming pool every now and again, its good to see so many making progress. Just like to say, I've been AF now for 4 years and loving every minute of it. I remember when I decided to take the plunge and jump in the deep end by going AF, I didn't dare think past the end of each day, now, when I look back I wonder where those 4 years have gone. I guess what I'm trying to say is this, while you are trying to climb the mountain you may find it easier if you don't keep looking up to see how much further you have to go, just keep your eyes on a few steps in front of you. When you reach the top and look back you will be amazed (as I was) at how far you have travelled.
Love to you all :hA F F L..

Just Like a Swimming Pool.
This was the first thread i read on MWO, i was still smashing myself every night, draging the esky next to the comp to avoid the 15 foot walk to the fridge in the same room(i thought that was cleaver, not pathetic) reading MWO threads and crying my eyes out, between necking larg beer bottles(another time saving breakthrough). Thank you so much for a clear analogy i could see, even through the mist.
BTW, today is 1yr sober for me.
THANK YOU IRISH...AF since 10/26/2009
It will be five years sober 10/26/2014
