Something that is working for me...

Just thought I'd share this as I'm finding thats its helping me stay af, I've been keeping non alcoholic wine eg. Maison, and non alcholic beer eg. Coopers, in the fridge, so when I have the urge I have a drink of that and it satisfies the need to have a drink but no nasty side effects, and it's cheap as well. So now instead of feeling like I'm missing out on something at bbqs ect, I can just take my non-alcho stuff and no one is the wiser!

I would love to hear about other peoples tips and tricks as well!

    Love happiness to all!
    :thanks: :h

where do you get the non alcoholic wine

You can buy it in any grocery store - usually down the pop/soda isle.

            It's 'orrible!

Hi guys! Sorry Jasmin, maybe the stuff you get over there is okay, but the non-alc wine from ASDA is absolutely disgusting - so sweet, but of course if you normally drink a sweet wine, I suppose it would be okay. I tried some last weekend, for the same reasons as you, Jasmine, thought it would satisfy the desire for just a glass of something other than sparkling water - :yuk: :yuk: if anyone does find a better substitute, I'd be really interested, has to be dry tasting though - and I think that the dryness comes from the alcohol - oh well, back to the drawing board!!

              Hi TartanTerror

I also preferred dry wines to sweet wine. Too sickly. Have you tried Aqua Libra dry?

                Thanks - I'll try it

:thanks: Thanks Mandy - I drink gallons of water, but would like to have a change now and again, I'll look out for this.

                Cheers - bottoms up!!!

I am not into the non-alcoholic beverages. I had a non-alc. beer a few years ago, and I agree with the terror - BLECH!!!

I find having a tonic water with a slice of lemon offers some gratification to the palette! Or a soda water with some cranberry juice. Or something that is relatively new here in Canada - cranberry gingerale. I am not a big fan of any type of carbonated beverage, but tend to have one of these just to 'switch it up' if I get bored of water/coffee/tea.

                      Hi,
If you mix cranberry juice and Perrier, you get a a tart bubbly mixture that looks a little like wine, is good for you and I love it, especially when it is hot.

Yeuch - hot Perrier!!! Sorry, Lori, I know you didn't mean it that way - if I have to wait until it's hot here, I'll be waiting a long time!!! Brrrrr!

there are some bigger wineries now producing what they call "de alcoholized" wines altough I confess to have not tried them....I really should give them a try since I love wine and tend to over-love it...gasp.
