Long story... Thing is, she believes marriage is for life and has alaways tried to just smooth things over. A huge part of all the crying she's doing now is regret and guilt at perpetuating the situation for so long.

        No you;re not Tiggs.
I believe that we can all create our own future, regardless of the influences of our parents.

OK... shall I pinch a piece of the lodger's fried chicken? Fnar fnar!!!
Same here, worrying about being like my dad. But really, we can be who we like and we can take influences from our friends and people we admire

          Who is your lodger?

Just a quickie! Love to the Army and big hugs to the Tigger family.

Will read back properly when I get back from Liverpool.

On my way over to my Saturday race got to catch 2 busses and start running at 9. Nothing like swapping one addiction for another.

Mornin all. Hi Tipps. Sounds like a similar story to my mam--in-law. He didn't go to rehab though. She left him for a few months at age 85. But went back. She died 2 years ago after a life of trying to cover up for him. Catholic Ireland - never let neighbours know.We then saw the real man. Very difficult. Split Mr Satz family in two sides.

Sorry if that post was depressing. Think that's first time I put it like that. As it was not my family I kept my nose out. Ah it's a long story. ANYHOO. Off to Carlingfoed today. First born's birthday. Large crew heading North for overnighter. There will be AL but I feel In control😍

Morning Army i got amber my ginger cat sitting on my lap as i type she's called Amber. Laptop is perched on the arm of the sofa and just having my first coffee.:cupajoe:. My father was an aloholic as were some Uncles. In those days it wasn't wildy regonised so AA and rehab were almost unknown and they wud have been refered to as just havin a few pints after working hard all weekend. Ahh sure ain't they entitled to a few drinks but this went on friday till sunday and somertimes a weekday. My mum died very young and had it tough. I'm sure this affected me and my drinking and i don't want to be like my father also but we can choose not to and follow better example and choices. Anyway too much to go in to right now but it seems most of us here have had some form of aloholism from a parent or spouses family. Well gud luck with your marathon whizzy and enjoy your stay in Carlingford Salz its a lovely medival town it yearts since i have been up that way. Everyone else have a lovely saturday. More coffee and then i'll read more posts on mwo.
