    Google and your web search history

    Hi everyone. Some of you know that while I am a computer no-teknic of the highest form, my husband is a really good computer guy. He was explaining to me recently how search engines collect information, then turn that around for marketing purposes, etc. Lots of privacy issues going on in the wild west world of the internet.

    Anyway, he suggested (well, told me to just do it LOL!) I go to my google account and disable my history there. (not in my browser - AT GOOGLE). Here are a couple of links if anyone wants to explore this a little more. I'm sorry I can't provide more background info do to my no-teknic status!

                My Web History was never turned on so I guess that means I don't have one. There's no button that says remove web history. Does that mean I'm okay? Or do I have to turn it on and then turn it off to be sure.
