Hi Stirly! yes but whats really worrying is this arvo they were out with their skipping ropes and their little boxing gloves and running up and down the back stairs....must be in training for something...

Nice to see you Raggsey....can you talk Sebastian back around or is he an anarchist too?

Sebastian gets what Sebastian wants. He is his own worst enemy. So is his family. So was I at his age. Seems he has problems and is getting counselling poor little bugger. Nah, I'm not going to try to talk him round. I don't think he likes my disciplinary attitude. I'd like to chat to him but so many restrictions. He craves attention. And gets it by being naughty/being a silly bugger/ rebelious/ disliked by other school mates. And I'm not a child psychologist. Or a mother.

      Hiya Happy!
      And everyone else.

How come all you very B&I people can fit in Undies every evening and moi who is retired can't seem to find time to get on MWO like clockwork....out of range times notwithstanding.... as they will be yet again tomorrow till Sat evening... going to Wingello. I need some REGIMENTATION in my life.

Why do I feel so inadequate when I see the wonderful bon mots, reparteee and witticisms that seem to be throw away lines for so many Undies, and I struggle stringing a POST QUICK REPLY together.

How old is Sebastion? I think I remember you saying the kids are around 8 or 9 years old but I could be wrong. You know, I was talking to someone this morning about kids who have no boundaries put up for them, who are allowed to do whatever the heck they please. I'm not saying that that is Sebastian's case but his not liking your disciplinary attitude may mean that he fits into that group. I read somewhere that when kids have no boundaries set for them, it's like you leave them in the middle of the desert by themselves. They have no sense of direction, can't find any shelter because there's none to be seen and deep inside they are frightened and afraid of what might be out there. Not that they realize those things. But they are there. And they vie for attention from their parents and others around them in any way they can get it because then they feel protected and wanted even if the attention is negative. Anyway, I found it to be an interesting read and something that made sense to me.

How come you can't chat with Sebastian, Raggsy? Are the restrictions from his parents?

You know I was only thinking today about some poor kids and the things parents do to them in the name of the parents beliefs....did anyone see the clip of Alicia Silverstone feeding her ten month old???Some things just should not be....

                    Hi Happs,
Just feeling a bit illiterate again. Would love to be as witty as Bridge and Tawn. ... and others. Might be a bit down... feeling not being adequate enough for my scripture kids... giving them concepts way beyond their years. And not being on their wavelength. (Which is why in the scouts and guides they want you out when you turn 60 or so... They probably become scripture teachers!)

Thankyou. I know you all care for me, and that is a very precious thing for me to have.

You??? Crikey, I don't even know what a bon mots is. :upset: And I just popped in here in the middle of Saucy's funny description off her chooks and started in on children's disciplinary problems. Which I had to use spell check to spell properly. Geez, you do so much - travel all over the world skiing and scuba diving, write cook books, teach Buddhism to kids and you're "inadequate"?? Geez, you make me look like I'm moving in reverse gear, not even in first gear or neutral.

I've met you. You can string more than two words together. You are funny, caring and you would be the sort of friend anyone would love to have because you are loyal and nice. Now give yourself a shake and stop making me a kiss bottom...

Stirls you could have hit the nail on the head with Sebastian. He is from a new age hippie style family, no TV, eat macrobiotic yoghurt etc.
Can't chat to him as there really is no time. I'm in there for the 50 minute lesson, then they have munch and crunch which is about 10 minutes, then they are back in class and I'm off the premises. maybe I could arrange a chat with him after school with one of his parents present. There are strict legislative restrictions about being with children without other persons being present. But I might have a chat witn the school principal. See if I can talk to him. Thanks Stirl.

                              Thankyou both.
I shall stop wallowing in what ever it was I was wallowing in... probably a bit of self pity mixed with compassion for Sebastion. And the bit of dog poo I accidentally stepped in this morning.

Names can be another form of child abuse cant they?

Extreme case this though....I am really on the side of boundaries and a smidgee of fun...

Rags, on my walks with the dog I pass the little local school and they have a run down vege patch....the last few times I have thought what a good idea it would be to volunteer to help out with that. And that idea has come from you. Just thought I'd let you know. And I will let you know if the idea becomes more than that. Isnt it amazing the positive influences we can have on each other?
