Sultanas are raisins from white grapes jan - and No ruby, I don't care for bread pudding. My mum makes it ALL the time and always has some in her fridge. It makes me think of school dinners - we used to HAVE to eat it. I won't touch macaroni cheese for the same reason. The very thought makes me gag!! There was no choice - they served just the one meal when I was at school - there was a hot dinner every day - and we had to eat it - sit there until we did. UGH! If we were lucky, we got one of the boys on our table and they would eat it for you!!

The angel trumpets look pretty Ruby - I have been looking at catalogues too but am wary about ordering with me going away and the plants just sitting here - Hubs wouldn't know what to do with them - I will wait til I come back - the weather will be better then anyway.

Pretty flowers Rubes. Some of my flowers are coming up in the chicken graveyard and the garden. My strawberries never died from last year..gawd I hate steak MB, but will take some rice pudding Sun..sorry you didnt get to canoe T. Put up new birdfeed station today and Pouncer very excited since it is at the window...Did not work in garden, very mushy out....

Sun, you naughty girl, teasing Ruby with your delicious, fluffy, creamy, sultana rice pudding. It sounds like the one my mum used to make with a little nutmeg and spice in it. Oh, the smells wafting through the house. Talk about saliva bursts....and she used to whip up a beautiful merangue, crisp on the outside and sticky on the inside, and bake it over the top of the pudding. Oh, Sun, I still remember how the spoon cracked through the merangue, dipped into sweet, sticky merangue and pudding while the steamy fragrant perfumes wafted into my nostrils.....
And I'm a list nut as well. Of course.

MB, the cream I bought is called Zostrix HP. Strangely, it's capsicum based, but apparently shingles sufferers swear by it.

I think Angel Trumpets were banned here after a number of very serious illnesses just from living near them. Think carefully, please, Ruby. They're not nice plants.

Mish - I had a friend who used to put meringue on top of the rice pud, and some fruit under the meringue - can't remember what fruit now - could have been peaches, but oh gosh - yes, it was to die for - the mix of the rice pudding and the fruit and the meringue - steaming hot.......oh yummmmm

I am glad someone else is a list nut too - I already have a variety of lists going for my upcoming trip to UK and have started ticking stuff off on them!

I had not heard of the angel trumpets dangers! Not sure if we can get them where I live without sending away for them or not - they sound bad, but there are lots of plants that can be bad if you mess with them the wrong way!!

Good Morning to all! A very crisp chilly morning outside it is too!! Bbrrrr! Woke up feeling hungover this morning - too much cookie dough followed by too many cookies! Oh well - better that than AL! Hope everyone had a great weekend-- I am about bite the bullet and buy that pregnancy test at CVS as I ate like a horse all weekend and was nauseous whenever I was not! I am going nuts with this bathroom redo-- everything is in disarray and the stupid shower people are keeping the project from being done and that is the interior guys fault- he really has hacked me off and I don't think he is prepared for my fury! Morning all. Had company till late last night, Tay and John are cleaning up my gardens (shudder!) so I cooked for them. (Sorry Fen, I'll try again!). Today I've spent a fun hour and a half shuffling doc appts so Tay has so go with me again all week. She'll hate that!
Mish, I've changed my mind - you and I are 1/2 sisters with both Sunny and me. And you just HAD to join in the torture, didn't you? Actually, these meds have killed my appetite. Had cottage cheese for lunch, made me a small plate last night for supper, but only ate a few bites. Oh well, while quitting smoking that's probably a good thing. Every other time I've eaten everything that didn't move!
Bird, no steak? Everyone in a while I really crave one, but have to go light on red meat and heavier on fish and chicken. Think I've eaten every leafy green vegetable in existence since last week. Tay 'went grocery shopping in my fridge last night, and JC was amazed at all the fresh fruit and vegetables. JC's chicken boss owes him $400, wrote him a check for $200, and it was no good. So till he starts his new job this week, they're broke. When I grocery shop I just go ahead and buy foods they like and can cook to send them.
Fen, I haven't found that salt you mentioned. I had no alone time from about noon on yesterday, so I'll try you today. When Hubs growls about the time I spend with my MWO friends, I remind him of an health article saying people with friends have lower BP than those who don't. Isolation=lonliness=anxiety=stress=high BP. When he asked about ones who stress me, I told I just don't read 'em! Like changing the TV channel.
ATL, the diet I was talking about is one Dr. Oz promotes now. Safflower oil. No special diet, no added exercise, no books or plans to buy, just safflower oil and lose up to 6lbs and 5" of belly fat a week, while revving metabolism and increasing muscle mass, cutting sugary cravings. The studies initially were done on post-menopausal diabetic women, so as he said, they were a mess! I'll see if I still have your e-mail and send the dosage.
