The Journey begins here so get YOUR ASSES IN GEAR!!!! MARCH MADNESS

Ruby-- I don't see Luke as a chore-- well-- on the umpteenth day of waking up at 5:30 and putting him to bed and then house cleaning etc until midnight (or organizing one or another volunteer activity) I often feel that way at least a little. I think part of Marks issue may be one tons of men have-- compartmentalizing. It is like he can do one thing at a time and would not think to be doing other things. He does actually have moreenergy than me when they are at play-- that makes me feel very guilty-- he is in better shape than me--he has not had the illnesses nor did he have the baby at 10 lbs. !!! That is one big reason I want to improve the health and weight-- to romp around with him the weekday care is never happening sadly. Luke has such a schedule that Mark would be lost-- and he stays at work until 6:30 usually. However -- I bring the morning wake ip on myself since I don't sleep much and experience has shown me that if I sleep on the morni g the gym is not happening. That bed routine is the main one- after the cooking after practices I want to sit down.

Raining now-- practice ought to be ending soon-- I hope!

Sweetie I never meant YOU thought of Luke as a chore. If Mark's not going to be an almost equal partner in parenting, why not get an au pair to do the grunt work, the running, so you can have all your time to spend with Luke and get healthy? What you do is SO complicated, so help from someone he trusts might help you not feel so tired and frustrated. Just an idea. A couple of my friends have had them for short periods and it freed up the time they and their children had. And you certainly have enough health issues to warrant help, as long as Luke is comfortable with them. And you should not feel you're relegating your duties by doing that. It sounds like you just need some relief for a while, and sleep. There's no way I could take on both our 6-y/o grandboys without a lot of Hub's help. Maybe when I was 20, or early 30's, but not now. And he's learned he missed this with our children.
      Best wishes on this, hon.

I think it's sad that hubs sees spending time with Luke as baby-sitting. My dad was the main bread winner (mom did work outside the house part-time), but he used to take me fishing with him early on Saturday mornings...or to the hardware store, or anywhere. He didn't see it as baby-sitting- it was our time together. I would think most dads would enjoy some time with their kids.

ATL, you are way ambitious...catered dude party? I'd just buy them a bunch of chex mix and subway sandwiches and get the heck out of Dodge! :H

I am back from the doctor's office. Her nurse asked "Was this at the cabin, again?" :H I replied in the affirmative. She opined that perhaps the cabin was more of a detriment than a benefit, lol! I was a bit afraid that my doc would chastise me for removing tick parts on my own...but she said that I did a great job! She also applauded my adventurous spirit and was thrilled that I was so active. She put me on the regular treatment for Lyme's disease...twenty-one days of Doxycycline. She advised me to keep the tick if it happens again...their lab can analyze the tick and discover what nasties it contains- I may not have to take antibiotics that way. So, it all went well.

Fen, as I told you, many times a nurse oversteps their real knowledge. But commenting on you real estate and hiking stuff, now I'd have had to go off on her. So glad you have a good doc, and you're on abs. Unless you're hooked on taking those, no time you're prescribed is a mistake. Give some like nurse a little power and ............... Hope it all clears up. Did doc tell you how to keep the ticks? I'm wondering if AL or other agents will take away their ability to give a good reading. They're becoming an increasing problem in the east, especially your area. Feel better.

Rubes, I love that nurse...I think she was mostly jesting. She is in her sixties and still runs every day. :h

I think I would just put the tick in a plastic container, no AL. I want to keep those bacteria preserved. I'll google it and see how it should be done. I will be covered in DEET in the future, so hopefully it won't be an issue. I'm happy that my doctor was positive in what I'd done, LOL. She was very interested in my walking deer paths for miles looking for antler sheds. I think it gives her a bit of a thrill, vicariously. :H

Gina, that woman is a little too involved with her kids...:H I agree, she should just take Mondays off.

Mama, I hope you feel better. Can you take a nice bubble bath and relax? :h

Nora, I have antibiotics for weeks! I think it was the right answer. I have never had this sort of reaction to a tick bite.

I think mark enjoys Luke but I think it is more on his terms-- meaning-- if he took him to do what he likes (like dad and Fen fishing) like skating, hockey etc-- he would love it. Doing homework, bathing, school stuff-- that is babysitting to him because it is no fun! By the way Fen-- when you feel better I will email you the latest story about my (I think) closeted friend Paula-- she has been on a roll lately...

Sorry G and MB for the crap days -- I just got out of Lukes room-- he was all upset about who knows what and like lots of little kids-- ge works himself into a snit-- asleep at 10-- he will be awful at school. Poor thing!

Better go-- I am going to watch my hero Judge Judy
