    its been along time. a really hard road to say the least. since i last was here, i have managed to lose my career, my house, my mom to cancer, and i am close to divorce.

    today is another day one.

          Trapped Dad, I'm so sorry that things have been so tough for you. But being here and Day One is better than not being here and still drinking, so well done and congratulations for that. You know we can be light hearted and silly here, but when one of us is in crisis we're quick to console, help and encourage you in whatever way we can. So please, stick with us, pour out your heart, rant, weep and know you're in a safe place where everyone has your interests at heart. Welcome back, dear friend.

            Geez Trapped dad, that's really tough. Sorry to hear it. Sounds like you're ready to get rid of the booze. Getting alcohol completely out of our lives in such situations is the only way we can move forward, if we want to. A really hard road as you say, and sounds like you are going to need as much real life support each day there as you can muster. You don't have to go through all of this alone. Feel free to talk it out here if you like.

            Stick around buddy and let us know how you're doing will you?

              Welcome back Trapped and feel free to hang with us. Sorry to hear you are having a bumpy ride, we are all up and down here.....landlord came and mowed the lawn after I already mowed it. Think he might have just wanted to get out of the house...gotta get to the shop soon..later

                Oh trap....I am so sorry...I have been close to losing my hubs in the past bc of the demon al, so jump on here and we will get through this. Off to pop my AB and jump in the shower for work.

                    TD, it's good to see you but not under such terrible circumstances. Sometimes it takes losing all or nearly all that's dear to us to realize the extent of damage AL is really causing in our lives. Like MB said, we've probably all lost or come close to losing in the past, so we can truly identify with you. This is the time to ask your self if you're really ready to make a commitment, while there's time to salvage your family life. What's lost can be replaced so far, your family is a whole different ball game. You know the drill, what you need to be, and it has to be absolute. Don't make promises to your wife if you don't absolutely keep them. You can work to rebuild her faith in you, and in your self, but it is hard work. We're here for you, friend.

                              MB, tell him the voices told you he drank all already.
                              Wish I could share the homemade chicken noodle soup and honey bran muffins with you I made for supper last night. Ahh, the joys of comfort food. And there's scientific evidence that chicken soup is good for sick people. Can't remember why.
                              The azaleas and dogwood are blooming now and are so beautiful. Problem is, every surface outside is yellow. Had to turn on the wipers this morning to clear the pollen when I went for gas. Luckily I don't have terrible allergies or asthma. Bird, I bet you really suffer in the spring, huh?
                              Here are a couple of pics from the party on Sat. Ry was SO thrilled at all the attention and gifts showered on him, and they loved the cake pops I took them. I learned from the experience of making them and they were such a hit I'll make them again and know more about what I'm doing now.
