Nora, hope things are all settled now. I like my alone time too, it get's lonely sometimes. Since the in-laws no longer speak to me (waved at FIL in the road the other day and he ignored me), though they still spy on me, Tay and I are still on the outs, he's the only voice I hear somedays. This weekend I have the BD party, next weekend my cousin from Boston is coming while she's working in ATL for a while (computer consultant), first week in April is grand's spring break, and lots of BD's that month too. I heard from an old friend my age in Gulf Shores who lost her husband about 5 years ago, and she and her man friend had taken a 2 month cruise around South America. I don't think I could get Hubs on a ship for 2 days! But it sounds fun.

Hello all-- in doc's office waiting for cancer check. Marks big shindig is this Saturday-- 68 are coming. Luke is going to his GPs this weekend-- I am not throwing a big event and having him around those beer drinking fools! Rubes-- I think Mark is taking Lukes feelings into consideration, but he always thinks I am overreacting. Yesterday he played with him all afternoon before hockey. Funny how he considered that babysitting!

Sorry I'm late checking in. I broke up a cat fight (real cats, LOL) in my driveway early this morning, and wasn't able to fall back asleep. I ended up crashing after breakfast.

Put in a call to my doctor's office- I have an appt. at 3:45 this afternoon, mother Rubes. :H Hopefully, she'll put me on the proper drugs.

Mrs. Fen and I decided to put our house on the market, to see if we're able to get a fair offer on it. If we do, we're high-tailing it out of this town and into a condo in a town closer to tick hollow. The property taxes here are ridiculous.

Best wishes with doc, ATL. That's a man's mentality, that he's helping YOU, instead of enjoying their child. But babysitting? Really? What does he call what you do, sweetie? Sorry, I know I'm sharing an opinion and this is your life but I want to strand men (and I speak from experience) who think that way in the woods for days with their children, if I wasn't worried about the children!
Birdie, always on to the next new thing, huh? You're a shaker and a mover in your world, love. How's your boss? Any progress? I know the place is tough to be in now. Come visit soon. You'd love Banning Mill Park about a half hour away where they have great ziplines, hiking, tower climbing, horseback riding.Still wish I could do a zipline.

Fen, best of luck with the house. We pay ridiculous taxes for this area, which stirs me up even more for those on government dole who have more benefits than working people. I'd LOVE to sell this ridiculously too big place and hide away in the woods, ticks, snakes, and all.

Funny but he is not alone in thinking he is babysitting-- all the other dads seem to think that around here. I do wonder though after we finish dinner every night what thought process goes through his mind-- when it is bed and bath time-- I see that as being something we should just share-- I would certainly think that way if I had an out of the home job-- I mean-- we are both home so both equally able... But if i want him to put Luke to bed-- I have to ask if he will! And the homework thing is just hilarious-- he would not do that with him unless I specifically said he must. I should not complain too much though since home is my area and money earning is his! The workers are almost done with the bathroom-- only 2 more things to do I ordered a rug on line and it won't be here but should be by next week. I will be so glad to be done.

Fen-- I organized the party so I go to make sure it is done right!! It is catered as I refuse to cook for that many (and they need to eat as they will be downing the beer).

This time change is kicking my rear!

RM. you're not asking for you but Luke. Maybe you can set up a schedule where he plans twice weekly looking after Luke in the afternoons, once weekly doing homework with him and putting him to bed.A child shouldn't be a chore or their care the responsibility of one parent in the home when planning his schedule. You're right, too many successful men think it's the duty for their wife to handle everything. And in many relationships now the wife HAS to also work outside the home at the same time. It's not the break they give their wives, but the time they spend getting to know their child. In a different scenario I did the same, and I regret it now seeing the effect it still has effects on them. A father is their child's role model for their future. Like I couldn't let my girls grow up in an abusive home, accepting the role, boys need to be shown the same love and care from their fathers as their mothers. I'm sorry to seem to be meddling in your life, and I don't judge anyone. I just know how much our parents influence us down the road. You can work this out, and make things better for you all. Hubs now takes a major hand with our grandchildren, but he's still away too much. You are a wonderful, loving, involved mother, and that's the best accolade we can have during their young years.
How was the checkup? I'm sure it was great.

The scarves are funny, but hang WAY too low to suit me, but might be funny under clothers for peeps that don't have them. Would LOVE to see T or Tony in a wet t-shirt wearing one.
Squrrel must be hungry. TMB had been hanging on the back porch all day, and squrrel keeps checking. Can we say AWWWWH for Fen's cousin? :H
Have pulled out all my clutter as much as possible and working one room at a time. Wish I knew what to do with it without too much effort. I've quit buying any but deals on the good old stuff, but have so much still left of the other. No, I REFUSE to organize a yard sale alone. I'm old, crippled, disabled, whine, whine whine. Certainly not worth my day sitting in the weather after hauling it out, arguing, and hauling it in. So I'll box it for donate and family. Hubs keeps telling me I should sell his buildings full of stuff, all car things. Yeah, right. Not doing that, but I'll help him with the paperwork.
