Ry was adopted just before he turned one. His mother and father were in jail for drugs, and he was left with an aunt who abused and neglected him. He has 2 brothers and a sister, and parents lost rights to them all. The girl lives with her paternal g'mother and brothers were adopted together. He still sees them occasionally, but only on Tip's terms, after she found the grandmother had taken him to the prison to see his father and made him call this stranger 'Daddy'. The Wrath of Momma came down on the woman's head, and it was over a year before she could see him again.sigpic

Hey all-- I know I have been out of touch -- been through heck on earth for the past couple weeks but things are looking up-- on topa for my migraines and though it will take awhile to build in my system and get to the dose I need I am hopeful. Got some pain relief though probably not what I need -- if the topamax works the amount should be okay but apparently since I last took pain stuff lots has changed and people who need more than just a few a month or the printed prescription kind go to a pain management clinic (thanks for that, drug seekers and pill mill peoPle-- making it hard to get meds from the regular neuro)-- maybe you know something about why they do that Ruby? I had no clue. Anyway, I hope the BP will come down with less headaches and I won't need further meds but if I do I guess I will be finding a good primary care doc- the only doc's I ever go to if I am forced are the specialists for my blood and cancer issues and the Emory urgent care for my invariable strep, sinus etc-- too bad they don't prescribe BP meds. Please continue your prayers that the changes I make and this med will be a huge help. I appreciate you all so much.
I know this rarely happens but today hubs did somethi g for me with no prompting and it was huge. We are going to Ireland (thanks Fen -- we used a load of your stuff) for 8 days and unbeknownst to me, Mark arranged for us to fly to London at the end for 2 full days and he got us booked at Gordon Ramsey's Restaurant that has 3 Michelin stars ! I know this is pathetic but I love that guy and always force Mark to watch him. Guess that rubbed off! I am not sure what it says about me that I enjoy watching peoPle on TV who call people morons and idiots (Judge Judy, Gordon, Simon Cowell). Anyway, I about fell out since this came on the tail end of him buyi g us Aerosmith tickets and he does not even really like them-- I do! I am now wondering if 1. Rubes got ahold of him or 2. If there is a hockey tourney he wants to go to!Comment

No, but if I'd had his # I would have. He's probably realizing how much you do and your health problems have frightened him. Anyway, good for him. Enjoy!! Oh, and if you DO decide to use pain management, I can recommend a great one just blocks from Northside. He's strict, but I love him. Been seeing him over 10 years, and so did both my parents and my MIL.
A pic of Ry's first meeting with Poppa. He was terrified of men, and Hubs won him over with ice cream. When I first met him Tip warned he didn't want anyone to hold him but her, he was like a little spider monkey. But he came straight to me, and I was in love. Today we shudder to think where he'd be if the state hadn't taken him. He first would sit and bang his head on the wall, because he'd been so neglected. Her MIL didn't want them to adopt him because he was 'damaged'. And they didn't want to take him when they took the others, but Tip straightened her out. There were other signs of abuse, he still wets the bed and has scars from being put in hot water. But he's a top student in school, Student of the Month there, grades PreK to 8. And Jack protects his 'little brother' with a passion. So many people wanted him after they'd worked with him until the adoption finally came through. Can't imagine our lives without our Ry.
Sometimes I just need to look at this to get my head right.........
