Could you list of those successful people please ..

I wanted to know if I am still fit for society as now very depressed by alcohol abuse ... previously people used to give me a sample person in the society .Now losing hope that's why want to know some stories of people who regain their happiness ...

    Thanks for your sharing,

I donk know of any famous people if thats what you mean but most people who stop drinking get a better life. I also have depression but by not drinking I can have hope and work toward a happy future. I know its hard to think that way when your in a black pit but by staying sober some time change withh start to seem possible. People who are at the top of there game work at it and the people who become great at whatever usually have great passion to drive them but often have problems like us as well. Of course you are still fit for society, you just need to practice at getting out there and joining it. Please dont lose hope, I think I for one am quite a success story and there are others on here and everywhere around, dont give up, you can do it

          Hi Dixon.

I am pretty sure that I had some form of depression after quitting drinking. I think I started to feel more "normal" after about 6 months sober. I feel fantastic now at about 18 months without a drop.

There are lots of famous people who have come forward with this problem. Here is a link to Craig Fergason talking about it on his show.

Hi Dixon, good to see you.

I was always depressed and sometimes moody when i was drinking, but that went away when i stopped drinking. Alcohol is a depressant as you probably know, and it also caused me anxiety and very low mood/feelings. Low self esteem, low self confidence, and i just didn't care about myself, or anyone else. All i cared about was where my next drink was coming from, and my boring, drunken, senseless life revolved around that 24/7. It was a black hole for me, that kept spiralling down and down. It was a complete waste of a precious, valuable life. Mine.

When i stopped drinking, slowly my body chemistry and mind chemistry began to heal and repair itself. My depression and anxiety have completely disappeared. My self esteem and self confidence and pride in myself have returned. Yours will too, but we must fight, and we must get a realistic plan that we can follow, and take action daily.

If you are still feeling depressed a couple of weeks after you stop drinking, you may have depression, and you might want to get yourself checked out.

Best wishes on your journey friend, and great work on day 2! Don't forget your https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...box-27556.html

Dixon, have you tried to reach out to AA? It might help to speak about your struggles with somebody who understands and who won't judge you. I go to AA regularly and it is a great help to me.
                Good luck to you.

                    Hi there !
Thank you for sharing your previous experience ! Its great to know and I also start feeling good eventhough a couple of days AF but relapses time to time and go for depression .When I drink I do until lost my mind and dont remember what happened during a course of time.Tough I drink alone , when get drunk start texting to others calling and hurting through telephone which reduced my prestige to the society to almost Zero and start regretting and go and fall in drinking...
I think there is no wayout in life with out stopping drink....otherwise there is sucide is sure !!
