On reflection going on a date whilst drinking heavily is much scarier.

thankyou all for the wonderful advice, i'm so stressed right now I feel like getting bombed (ex huspband, mother in law, school ) might chicken out on date, but i'll keep you posted.

Stoat! Oh my, I think we may need to compare notes....I have a blind date this Sat - too. And possibly another blind date - with a different guy- very soon!! I now have three months sober and have been feeling pretty good but this is some kind of stress eh?
I used to always 'pre drink' before going on a date. I probably let many good guys slip by that way. Seems the nicer the guy the more I would drink.
I'm going to suggest coffee for the first date.

Hey Lisa, good luck to you too, terrifying isn't it? Unfortunately he just came out with "have you got a drink problem" on the phone, which unnerved me because I didn't want to bring this up, especially with someone i've not met. This was response to my profile ticking the box that siad I don't drink. Now I feel he has me labelled! I don't think i'm ready for this yet.
