Oh Expat how that resonates with me.

Last night when out running with the young ones one of them told me about a story her mother had told them about a lovely midwife who had delivered her--

Because this lovely midwife had been so wonderful they invited her to the christening-- where this midwife got so drunk she passed out and had to be taken home.

I still feel so ashamed. It was not the only occasion:upset:

        Patty,

FECK them, hold yer head up high and let it go. You are no longer that person, you know that, it might just take the bint in childcare a little longer to cop it. You just keep doing what you are doing and the next time you pick that little boy up, there will be no questions and the time after that and after that too.
Just think, NOBODY will ever smell drink on you again......memory's fade and the one's who cling onto other people's mistakes are always the ones with the biggest skeletons in their closets.

You are a fantastic mother and another one I look up to, everyone makes mistakes but we don't have to pay for them forever, remember, what other people think of you is none of your business.......the mother of the little boy would not have asked you to pick him up unless you were totally trustworthy so the ones who had comments can go and SHITE!

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from. Al Franklin..

Stop that rubberneckin Anon!!!! The past is behind you xxx

Kids are in bed. I'm back.
:l to you girls and thanks. It is hard. But I think it's good to talk about the different steps of our journey to a sober life whether it's day one or day 10000.

Absolutely Patty, talking is very cathartic and there is NOT one of us who has a story that would make yer toes curl, least we did them drunk, others do mad things feckin sober, so we are not doing too bad!

No but really, the people who I really care about and mean something in my life-like my kids, my work people, even my ex-in-laws and ex-husband-all know me and things are grand. So yes, it hurts when some people still look down on me but at the end of the day-they don't fecking matter. I'm sober for me and my kids-full stop. And we are happy.

Zenners must be at her country music do-eating ribs as we speak. Now that the kids are asleep, I'll go have a look at the link she posted . I love seeing what all us Army lads are up to across the globe.
