I'm doing reasonably ok with the drink, foxy, in so far as I haven't caved in yet after two months AF. At the moment my sleep issues are distracting me from thinking about drink, which is handy, but normally drink is never too far from my mind. If I can get through to early summer without caving in, I think I'll have a reasonable chance of making it through the summer months without drinking.
My AL worker is very good, but I gather that the place where he works is closing at the end of this month owing to local government cutbacks. :upset: A new organisation is taking over, apparently they only do group therapy, not one-to-ones, which is really not ideal for me as I'm deaf. I'm toying with the idea of taking my AL worker up on his offer of private psychotherapy/counselling, though I could do without the expense. Are you getting any support yourself at the moment?
That's great news about Jackie, stirly!

I meant to comment on your menu today - Sesame and honey chicken balls, bbq spare ribs ala Molly, honey and mustard ham, posh salad, garlic bread and strawberry pavolva I'm impressed. Very impressed. I bet your family is too. The menu at Stirly's Diner today was nothing compared to that. We ordered take-out. Souvlaki and chips. Very delicious mind you but nothing compared to what you whipped up. I'd like to know what your posh salad consist of if you'd like to share the recipe. I'm a big fan of salads. And I'd like to know how you make the BBQ ribs as well.

Thanks Reccie xx
Stirls, her arm is pretty bruised but she is ok and still loves Alfie xxxGood she got over it so soon. I had a dog grab onto to the back of my lower leg once - the calf. Didn't break the skin but the bruise was the size of my hand and I have big hands. Unfortunately it happened the day before we left for summer holidays. I spent 10 days on the beach with a badly bruised leg.

Molly, lovely that you got to see the scan of the baby! Apologies for asking, is it Adam who's becoming the father? I lost track

Thats good news Reccy that you are doing so well i hope it continues. Apart from logging on here i don't have any support but i'm going to my gp tomorrow to ask or be refered to some kind of counciling or out patient program. There is a of cutbacks here too so not a lot and prabably waiting lists. I researched and made ponecalls but most have charges or gp referal. I'm getting back in to AA startimg tonight so that shud help. I hope you get some other help now that ur regular place is closing down. Sory to hear you're having bother again Jan. I don't understand why ur daughter insists on you speaking only Spanish. I hope you get peace son. I have to run folks and dry my hair. If i'm not too tired i'll check in when i get back from the meeting.

Your menu is indeed very impressive, molly. Like stirly, I would like to know what your posh salad consists of . And where do you buy your chicken balls from?
stirly-girly;1278604 wrote: Hi again, Reccie. There's a site somewhere that you type in what ingredients you'd like to use to make something and they give you a list of the recipes that have those ingredients in them. Can't for the life of me remember what the site was called but if you go to "ask.com" and ask for it, they might come up with something. Just a suggestion.

Are you getting any support yourself at the moment?Panda-man - are you kidding me? "reasonably ok with the drink" ??? Only reasonably okay after two months AF? You are doing brilliantly.:goodjob: And I mean it sincerely. And you will get through both early summer and summer itself. I know you will because you've worked so hard to titrate down and then stop the drinking altogether that you won't let yourself get caught up in that downward spiral again.
As for the private psychotherapy/counseling, do whatever you're most comfortable doing. If you would feel out of your comfort zone in group therapy with strangers because of your deafness, then I think you'd best go for the one-on-one therapy if you can afford it.
Recluse;1278600 wrote: That's great news about Jackie, stirly! It is indeed. So much better for her to be home in her own cozy bed than in the hospital. As long as they've given her something to relieve the pain.
