    Casino night fundraiser, any ideas?

    Hi All,

I'm organising a fundraising event for my daughters school, and have decided to do a casino night .....

I regularly do events but have never done a casino night before .....

Anyone ever done this before or even attended one .....

I've found out where I can hire the stuff but it seems really expensive .....

Sorry - can't help you out. I would be happy to be a gambler, but when it comes to setting these things up, I'm no help.

Sounds like a worthy goal - good luck.

I have attended one. Basically, we won chips that we traded in for points or tickets at the end of the day if I remember correctly. Then, we got to bid on prizes with our winnings. So, the more you won, the better your chances of getting what it was you really wanted.

I remember there was a single mom there who really wanted a big screen tv, so everyone gave her their tickets. I also remember I had none to give because I lost everything. This was one of my better gambling experiences, but I do keep going. . .

            Hey Paula,

We had a casino night at work recently. We had a very tiny budget so we didn't hire anything and did it all ourselves.

We had a roulette wheel where we just got a big long piece of green baize cloth and marked out all the numbers on it, and we just bought a cheap roulette wheel from a toy shop. We had a few other games like pontoon as well which don't require any equipment.

We went for an "Island" theme and got heaps of cheap decorations, like a poster that covered the whole of one wall with an "underwater" effect. We also got lots of little fish decorations and stuff to hang from the ceiling.

for the money, we just printed out a whole load of notes on green paper and cut them up (cause the casino chips worked out pretty expensive).

hope this helps and let me know if you want to know more (like I say, ours was REALLY low budget so you may be aiming for something a bit more snazzy!)
