Luggage went missing as well. Sobbing as she arrived I cannot bear the pain but life does go on

She is so pleased that I did not offer a drink to make it better. Sort of makes me wonder about my maternal skills in the past

Good grief, Mrs. A - on top of the heartbreak, her luggage went missing? Poor girl, she's really having a rough time. Good she's got a loving, sober Mum to listen to her and pamper her while she's visiting. :l:l As we said a few days ago, don't wonder about the past. It's where it should be - in the past. What counts is what we do from this very second and onwards...

Unfortunately I've only had brief contact with that side of my family Stirly. I might be able to find out from an Aunt I met this year though. I just know that they are Irish/Scottish/French decent with a concentration of Lyons's in Nova Scotia and Matepaedia Valley, Quebec.

RC - according to what my Father told me years ago, my Great-grandfather was a policeman in Armagh and emigrated to Canada. I have no idea where they landed but I do know that he bought a farm in the New Liskeard area of Ontario and that their family consisted of 13 children. Eleven children of their own and 2 adopted from a neighbouring family who's house burned and the parents perished in the fire. So my GGrandfather and his wife adopted two of the children. You can imagine how many first, second, and third cousins we have. Three-quarters of my ancestry is from Ireland and one-quarter from Scotland. And I am so very, very proud that I have both Irish and Scottish blood in my veins. Now how in the heck I got mixed up with this Greek person is another story.:H:H

I'm English through and through. No ancestors from far off distant places unless you count the Vikings or the Saxons.
