Wow! I'm shocked at all those on the list that I didn't know about. If some of those people (musicians, actors) who must have to live on the party circuit can quit, surely we can too! Talk about temptation to overcome!

Thanks, DG! What a list! I do know that Eric Clapton has a couple of rehab facilities, one in Antigua, where a very close friend of mine got sober seven years ago. Wouldn't it be nice if more of these rich and famous put some of their money into programs like that. Maybe some of them have.

I'm not sure if she ever had a drinking problem, but I just read an interview with Elle McPherson. When asked what her favorite cocktail was she responded that she hadn't had a drink in 8 years. No wonder she's so stunning!

Perhaps not as 'glamorous' as some of the other names mentioned, but film critic Roger Ebert is very upfront about his quitting. (And the way he has handled life's later, huge, adversities does truly inspire awe.)
