    Not Everyone's Tea

I've been loaning some of my bandwidth for the past two years to SETI. I think it's only a matter of time till we realize who we are. Are we star people, or just a spill over of chemicals igniting biology? I think it's both. What caused it ? For you that love astronomy, ask questions, and do not not think we are alone..

As a math major in college, with a 25 year career at AT&T labs & IBM, I keep an open mind. The Phoenix lights convinced me. I had traveled back from San Francisco, back in my car by 7:45. I stopped at a Burger joint at around 8PM. When I walked out people were looking up....

I saw the largest object ever. My best guess was it was a mile wide.

Back when I was a youngin(back in 19 dickety doo) There was a show called Project Blue Book.

It was on every Sunday night, and I couldnt WAIT for it to come on.....I dont know that it swayed my opinion on life being "out there", but it was facinating!

        Hey Techie!

Never saw a UFO or the likes but I used to leave my puter on all night for SETI, too! :H I kinda think it would be rather arrogant of us to think we are alone out there. Well, here. Somewhere.

I do believe there are beings/something/someone else out there too. Cool if there is a way to communicate with them. Even better if they could enlighten us and solve our world problems. Maybe too much to ask right now. I think i would totally freak out if I saw one, but I would think it would be awesome to "hear" from them, however they communicate.

Kind of a difficult fit with those whom believe in the "magic sky fairy" aint it?
Anyhow, if the universe is infinite, which it must to be, because if there is and end to it, there must be something on the other side, which in turn must mean that anything at all is not only possible must absolutely exist, you just have to keep going until you find it.
Higher powers? Magic sky fairies? Give me science and logic any day.

I've been wondering if they are players in the 12/21/12 thing.

To put it in the words of the beautifully brilliant astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson:

If the count of planets in our solar system is not unusual, then there are more planets in the Universe than the sum of all sounds and words ever uttered by every human who has ever lived. The numbers are, well, astronomical. To declare that Earth must be the only planet in the Universe with life would be inexcusably egocentric of us.

The most astounding thing (according to Tyson):

And on a lighter (but still relevant) note, two of my MOST FAVORITE people (Jon Stewart and Dr. Tyson) talking about it:

I was watching a program recently about ETs, and one of the commentators said he believed they would most likely be hostile. He said, think about it. Even other countries here on Earth want to war with us. Why would we think other Planets would be benign?:H:H

                            Not Everyone's Tea

We used to go out at night in big groups and watch the skies. Never saw anything as spectacular and scary as once in 1969 when we went to the drive-in to see 'Night Of The Living Dead'. As if I wasn't scared enough, there was an incredible meteor shower that night, and between the movie, the meteors, and a horny boyfriend, I was REALLY ready to go back to my Daddy's arms, where I always felt safe.
