What is my level in Alcoholic rank ?

    Dear Friends,
Now I am feeling this way when I drink or not .I want to know my level of alcoholic disorder as per yours knowledge and experiences.

    When Drink AL.
-A small amount of alcohol makes me weeping/tearing out/depressed and go for more and get lost the memory.
-When almost lost the memory ,I sleep too long may be 15-20 hours otherwise cant do anything.
-Next days full of regrets and swear not to drink any-more.
    - Previously, I used to drink every day or night or even though in the morning with an empty stomach. But now I can give one or two days interval with willing power only ,I mean no medicines and other attempt.

    When AF.

    - I feel happier within one or two days AF.No need more days ,feels active quickly.Though there are some normal disorders like mood swings.
    - I am on anti -depression as well.
-Cravings came when I don't have any job or being alone.
    - I don't feel any physical problems like shaking , vomiting etc..

Many thanks for sharing your experience or information.I am worried that AL and depression will lead to quick dementia , suicidal or other mental health problem in early age.

Your level sounds like fed up with AL to me! If you're experiencing all that negative stuff and it's directly related to AL, which it IS, why do you need to know how "bad" of an alcoholic you are? Clearly, the joy of drinking is over for you.

Get on the straight and narrow AF path, and don't look back dixon. You can do it. Nothing good will ever come from AL. No matter what you're going through, no matter how difficult life is right now, AL will not help you in the long run, and it will hurt you for sure.

Stay close to MWO. You can do it!:l

          Hiya Dixon,

          Good to see you.

For me, if i think i have a problem with AL, then i DO. I don't compare my alcoholic level with anybody else. If AL is even a small problem for me, then the answer is simple. I must stop. I must keep working and find my way out, and you can.

Many anti-depressants will not work when we are drinking. The alcohol stops their effect. But AL is a depressant, and will make us depressed and sad as you know. It damages all of our internal organs like the brain too. Best to work towards stopping and being free.

Surrender and stop trying to control something we cannot control. Leave AL behind and start to live again friend.

          Best wishes, G-bloke.

Having been dealing with AL and depression for the last few years(well, my wife's depression and AL)....I can ASSURE you, you do NOT want to mix the two. If for no other reason than that, stay away from the poison.

              Thank you Guitarista,
I also believe that " don't try to give up or control any bad habits but add up the new good habits which replace it " How are you agree with this statement.
I can add new things but am in abroad and not socialised well and always feeling alone !

              Best regards,

I thought my post might be a bit confusing, after I read it again.

My wife has suffered from depression for a little while. For the most part its under pretty good control...some ups and downs, but bearable.

When she drinks, it NEVER ends up good. I was the alcoholic, but when we met she started drinking with me, which was more than before we met.

I dont know about the interaction with her meds, but Im sure it cant be good.

I just wish we could dis invent AL LOL

Hey Dixon! You say you're abroad and not well socialised and lonely? How about getting some new hobbies or interests? Get out a bit more? You'd make new friends so you wouldn't be lonely anymore and keeping busy which is really important when trying to quit. Physical exercise will help you along too, really good for the 'natural highs' the brain will produce on its own, if you let it.

You can do it. Keep reading and posting, there's so much information and so many people here with the same experiences. Take care x

                      Nelz,
I now understand clearly that you were both victimized by AL .You are doing well ! well done .Have you got any kids ? if so it is very dangerous to be drunkard both .Now you are AF at least so that you can pave the way for your wife too.

                      Willow,
Yes I wanted to make friends but it seems nobody has matching time ,when I am off they are on job and vice versa.
In another note I do not put any alcohol at home , I generally relapse when I get out for any reason. There is awesome to stay alone at home and when exit home AL starts craving and relapses occurred.I understand you are also living in the UK so could you advise if there are any organization where I can stay /live paying the room rent so that I can reduce my loneliness. I am not eligible to live in churches or any council homes which are free of cost and cant pay huge rent to the private accommodation. Is there any charity/organization which subsidies house rent for lonely people and keeps within the community?
I would appreciate for your help.
                      With best regards,

Dixon, I have said this before....you need to see a doctor and get some professional help. Please do this. AL is making you sick. I know you want to stop, and we are here for suppirt but I think you need to see someone NOW.

                          Thanks Wagoneer,

I have been seeing my doctor abroad and I am under well control for depression if I give up AL.
I am on medication of depression since 8 years.Doctors cant prescribe any med .for alcohol so what I need this community to raise my self esteem.
Trying but relapsing time to time !
