PS, TF, the funniest post I read on a thread here was by you, about noodle boxes. I laughed til I cried. Been meaning to tell you for ages.

Hello all,
Just popping in to say hi to my fellow down-underers! I am back again - on Day 11 today - after a long spell of immersing my head in the sand. But it was gritty down there, and expensive, and exhausting, so here I come up toward the light.
I haven't really been reading here so I'm not up with what everyone is doing - I've largely been posting in the Nest but it does get lonely at night this side of the dateline. But I hope everyone is happy, healthy, sober and well.

Thanks for the welcome back friends. It's been too long and it's good to be back. I'll try to stick around a bit more this time.
All's well here on a surprisingly cold Sydney night. Long day of working so gonna try and log OFF the computer and relax a bit with some magazines and a nice cuppa.
Night all,
Lilly

I have a strange question but I hope some of you will answer.
My granddaughter has to do a science project and she wants to do one about Great White sharks. She is young and doesn't understand that a Science Project means a bit more than just "something about sharks.."
I am thinking those of you in Australia or New Zealand can point us to some websites about the studies they are doing on great whites.
The studies they have been doing over the last few years are very enlightening but, because we are talking about a science project, we need to narrow it down. I vaguely recall some work about safety for divers and great whites.
Anyway, I would appreciate any information you can point me to. I can Google with the best of them but I would very much appreciate some pointers from those "down under" who live with them in their waters, just like the Californians.
Thank you in advance,
Cindi
This might be a bit off track, but there is a small but passionate movement here trying to save the white pointer from extinction, and discouraging people catching, or buying 'flake' (shark) at the local fish and chip shop and markets. Apparently numbers are dwindling. An accomplished writer/novelist Tim Winton is a sort of public face for this campaign, so if you google him there should be a link. It's possibly a bit off topic, but could be of interest? Otherwise, did you know when they sleep you can go up and give them a rub. Feels like sandpaper.
Just back from a little local gig. Not one of me better ones, but ok.
Loans are weird Reg. I know a bloke who got a full on house loan of a couple hundred grand at 65 yrs of age. Cool for him, but when's his last payment?
Roll on sunday Sunny! Yay. Hi LillyE!
G'day to everyone else. Hope all are safe and sound. Ooroo.

keep going I feel so useless talking "go on" to my hero..because I just dont have the right to even say this
No no, thanks for the question. I'm tired at the moment cause i went to bed about 5.30 this morn, and up at 9, but will have a great sleep soon. I feel really good on all fronts, but i sense a 'quieter acheiver' sort of ambience within meself for some reason. No meds required, or will power. I have waited for sobriety to come to me and haven't been chasing it this time around, if that makes any sense. How are you going, aside from your mum's health situation of course?

Wonder if Bridgee's watching SBS? An Italian filum with a nun and a blind bloke. They're rubbing each others legs in the pool during a swim class. OMG!
Noight all.
