Chicken curry a la froglette` bubbling away in the slow cooker.
Not a terribly productive day but I did overhear a gem in Woolies.
Mum:
KYLE!..... I bought you into this world......and any bloody minute now....I'm going to take you out!!!.....
I tip my glass of diet lemonade to this woman......If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Rags, that meal looked so yummy. I will organise my next trip to NSW to make sure that I'm in traveling distance of Eschalot on an evening when they are open
OMG - the hospital stay sounds terrific and I don't feel brave enough to even make a guess. But what I don't understand is why the travel insurance isn't paying out????? (apart from the obvious one .... duh, they're an insurance company; and their first reaction is to work on the principle that their clients are trying to rip them off).
Had a delighted ring from a friend this morning - she got some chooks a few weeks ago, and had her first egg this morning
Painters are making great progress - they have now taped up a sort of thin plastic over our windows and doors so that we don't get paint splashes on the glass or aluminum joinery. It has quite an interesting effect - it makes the whole inside of the house really quiet, and filters the light in a way that is reminiscent of fog. The cats seem to have descended into a meditative state as well. By the end of the week most of the worst of the painting will hopefully be over, and my car will be in the auto-body repair shop. Hopefully life will start to return to routine after that!!
