Underoos, Doodyheads and their Dogs, April

    Morning all,

Astral travelled to the dawn service. As huge as ever.

Anzac day always gets me to reflect on us as a society today, and the values and attitudes we display and hold dear. Especially among younger folk. I love mixing with older generations (and sure try to cherish the experience while it lasts), and the way they will often 'carry' and present themselves, is just so genuine and down to earth. There is a gratitude and selflessness in many older people i see, and a real basic decency about 'em. I'm not explaining myself as well as i want to here, but i see a lot of honour, and respect to self and others, that we must continue to pass on to younger generations, which i suppose has always had it's challenges.

Aside from that, where oh where are the bloody ANZAC biscuits baker's?!

A safe, sober, magical and reflective, restfull day to all.

Ahem....Anazacs in the oven....FFS I am turning into a woman who bakes...never saw this coming as a side effect of the new lifestyle...beats picking up a pack of Arnotts...or a case of cleanskins

Dawn service lovely. Trying to sort food and comatose family for a picnic as we speak.

It was raining hard in Scottsdale,
I needed one more fare to make my night.
A Frog up ahead waved to flag me down,
She got in at the light.
Oh, where you going to, my lady green,
It's a shame you ruined your barbie gown in the rain.
She just looked out the window, and said
          "You must be fricken insane".
          Something about her was familiar
I could swear I'd seen her clammy face before,
But she said, "I'm sure you're mistaken"
And she didn't say anything more.
It took a while, but she looked in the mirror,
And she glanced at the license for my name.
A smile seemed to come to her slowly,
It was a sad smile, just the same.
And she said, "How are you Techie?"
I said, "How are you Frog?
          Through the too many miles
          and the too little smiles
She hit me upside the head with a log."

RightyO, went to dawn service 2 years ago, I was still drunk from the night before, but I manged it. The dawn services on the beaches here are PACKED! Then I went home and slept the rest of the day. Glad those days are over. Last year when we ventured out on Anzac day, the rest of the world seemed drunk, and it was early afternoon. Now we stay home.

A blow upside the back of the head
                        Gives a man severe concussion.
                        His face goes red,
                        He's not quite dead -
But it sure curtails further discussion.
