So this is the second morning without hot water. Not happy, Jan, so I've just gone and put a penny bunger up the gas boy. He promised to deliver two tanks as soon as he recovers.

Bridge - while you are contemplating doing FA, could you turn your thoughts to my front garden, which needs re-planting now that the scaffolding is down!

It faces south-east, and doesn't get a lot of sun. It is also quite exposed to the wind. When I moved in the soil was really poor, but I've been composting it regularly over the last couple of years, and it is now pretty good. What has grown well there in the past is helleborous, and over the last year I have used it as my spinach patch!! I'm wanting to put in something a bit decorative and attractive. I've been contemplating ferns or azaleas. Any thoughts?

Oooo yes...Maybe a bit of a wind break to start off with. Then you can plant hostas oyster plant (acanthus) camelia, peace lilies, ferns and tree ferns (though they don't like wind) and I have a hydrangea in semi shade that's beautiful. For flowers maybe foxglove, canterbury bells, polyanthus, aquilegia (granny's bonnet) lobelia, Nigella.

Isn't there a New Zealand rock lily? I'm sure I've got a white one at home with nice foliage

Thank you - I shall go and look up my Yate's gardening guide.

I thought we didn't like Nigella

I should also have mentioned that it is very small :H:H

Builder did an A++++++ job today, so I'm happy about that. Great attention to detail, fabulous workmanship and tidied up after himself. I'll definitely use him again!

Is anyone around to offer up some dinner ideas. Just remember no meat, I can substitute fake meat for it though. Otherwise I will have to resort to the internet.

Sunny - at this time of year I'd go for lightly saut?ed zucchini, red pepper, red onion, garlic and tomatoes, served over a batch of brown rice. Followed of course by a generous serving of B&J (vegetarian flavor :H)

I myself am having something that involves meat and is much less healthy :H:H

Actually, some of my more interesting dishes recently have been as a result of typing into Google the names of whatever I have in the fridge, along with the word "recipe". Works a treat!!

MMM, sounds good Tf and MB. Sometimes I just make something up and it turns out yum.

So with my first day off I perused through the last week of threads and comments. I guess when you only stay in the drawer you have no idea of all the drama out there. It makes me love the drawer that much more. Thing is we are all here for the same reason, doesn't always make sense to me. I liked Techies thread too!

                                So to you all :h:h
