Is it inappropriate to ask if any of you are near coastal NC? You've made me feel such a part of this group and I thank you!! My name is Kim, but I am happy with Hope; because I truely have so much of it!! I am going to do the ladies AA group tomorrow as well Mama!! I need that connection and hope to meet someone like me who understands me. If they start telling me that I have to go to people I've hurt in the past and apologize and tell them I am an alcoholic, it won't work for me. I've made many apologies, and my mind and heart want to move forward. People who've hurt me and abused me in the past haven't done that to me, and frankly I don't need that. They just need to learn to forgive themselves and move forward. I am talking away like I have nothing to do. Tomorrow is Special Olympics, and these are the individuals that I care for. Hugs to all and goodnight!!

Ruby - can't believe your wrist is broken. I'm so sorry. That dog is not allowed in your bedroom anymore.

Bird - your poor daughter. I think we all need to go over & have a talk with that boy!

Mama - loved your pic and so happy that you had a wonderful time at the concert. Great job on going to the AA meeting. :h

ATL - Great job on losing more weight. I only have about 80 more pounds to go. Today is the first day I've missed using the exercise bike in the past 9 days. So, I'm trying.

Gina - How are you doing??

Grateful - it's so wonderful to see you here. I miss you!! :l I hope your back starts feeling better.

Kim - I'm in California. I think I'm the only one on the West Coast. By the time, I get on here, you all are going to bed. :H I did go to a Women's meeting a few times. It was a good meeting and nice people. I might start going again.

Sun - did you work today? Well, you always work even when you are not at your job. You are always so busy. Are you doing better? You were down the other day.

Has anyone talked to Fennel today? I hope that things are still going ok.

Thanks for the info Nora. I will learn and get to know everyone in our group. I hope I didn't freak anyone out tonight when I ended my post with I love you guys, Hope (or whatever it was). I frankly am a heart person...I think with my heart, I follow my heart...just who I am. I always asked my daddy before he died why I couldn't be more normal, and his response was always that he would never change a thing about me. Frankly, I would. Had a really shitty day today because one of the moms of a child that I am the case manager for obviously had expectations that she never voiced, until today when she was visible pissed at me. I called my supervisor when I left the home, because I take my work very seriously, and if I screw up, I will be the first to tell you!!
Started my day extremely emotional; and adding to my emotions, I have an 18 year old kid with a disability who is very high functioning and I am looking for a place for him to live for the next 2 years. So sorry to ramble...just not the kind of day that makes me feel successful and encourages me to know I am doing what I am called to do.

Number one - Of course you didn't freak anyone out. We do love each other here. We understand each other the way many other people don't. No matter how much our significant others/family/friends love & care about us, unless they are alcoholics, they do not understand. So, we've got each other here and we love each other. :h
Sorry you had such a rough day. You are an amazing woman to work with these children and to care so deeply for them. Remember to treat yourself kindly and to take care of yourself also.
So - a little bit about me. I'm 53 years old. Been married for 34 years. Have one 25 year old son. And I lead a very boring life. :H That's about it from me.

Can't sleep. Arm and ribs hurt a lot and took a strong pain pill and instead of sleepy I'm wired. But don't hurt so much.
Hope, ATL is in Atlanta, and I'm near there. Have a cabin in Helen, GA. Have you ever been there. We're spread all over. Are you near Hilton Head? I love it there and Fen is either there or has just been there. T is in S Fla. Almost everyone has been to my cabin with me or is coming.maybe you can visit too. Loved the Special Olympics when I worked at the school. Daughter was a cheerleader and used to cheer for them. I am a walking disaster area. Hubs says I should have orange cones around me. I drank a lot because I'm alone so much. Hubs works the power co.and has a job supervising hundreds of people so he's there all the time. I live in the country and have 2 kids and 7 g'children. Look forward to getting to know you.
Nora dear, I always wish you lived closer. Pick up a copy of Woman's World magazine at grocery or pharmacy. Only $1.79, has a great diet plan, recipes, and a Hungry Girl low cal recipe every week. I got the April 23 issue and done the diet before, lost 14#s, plan to do it again. I love a the stories tips, and bargains. You too ATL. Love that diet.

Now this is getting old! Hubs will be up in hour & 1/2 and I have not slept yet. Might as well stay up and have breakfast with Hubs. I can sleep later I guess. :H.
Hope, you know the sort of things we say to each other! It's hard to freak each other out:H. We love each other too, and Nora put it so well. I act from the heart too, and it often leads to getting my feelings hurt. But it's just me, and that's why Hubs and I work so well. He's very organized, deliberate, and analytical. Not emotional and not invested in how anyone feels about him but his loved ones. He's very respected, even feared, because people know he's no BS.
Sun, can't remember exactly what letters I used but basically was saying I'd 'shut the f up!'. :H. Can't believe you didn't take the bait when I said 'the old grey mare' crack. You getting forgetful in your doteage?
Lawdy I'm miserable. Hubs said 1 more fall and he's just going to have me put to sleep!

Onto day 6 and very grateful, although a bit down, my weight has gradually gone up and I need to loose about 12 pounds, this gain is down to my alcohol consumption, so another good reason to abstain. I'm dreading going to see my doctor, as I need to get my bloods done as I have a heart condition and have to keep my cholesterol and weight down. Oh well all good incentives. Hope your wrist is more comfortable Ruby.

Good Morning all! Hope - we all love each other here - we are a family and that is what a family is all about - we support and love each other - welcome to our family! I am in awe of what you do - it takes a special person to do what you do and it must really gut you out sometimes. I live in the mid west near St Louis, have 2 grown daughters. Been married for 30 years. And am younger than Ruby - LOL. Oh - and never worry about rambling - Ruby does it ALL the time.

Paula - don't worry about the weight right now - deal iwth the AL first then worry about the weight. Sorry you are down - we all go through it - I did a few weeeks ago!! But fortunately bounce back!! good job on the AL though!!

Nora - I was off yesterday but yes, worked out in the garden for the entire day - wonderful time out there - really enjoyed myself!! Good job on doing the exercise bike for 9 days - and you are allowed to miss a day here and there! :l

Ruby - oh my poor dear Ruby - I so feel for you - when is your pain going to stop - gosh, and they straightened your wrist out without you being under any sort of anesthesia?? I cannot imagine how much that must have hurt. I did miss the grey mare crack - you are right - I must be getting old - LOL. Anyway my friend - I so hope that can get some sleep - that would help take the edge off a little bit I am sure. Sending healing thoughts to you......

Bird - oh gosh - I hated that age when boys had such an effect on my girls. Hormones running rampant and the slightest thing would set them off - just trust me when I say they do eventually grow through it and you will survive it. Hugs to you :l

Mrs. Fen and I are here in Hilton Head until Saturday. FIl has stabilized and should be going home today. His condition is terminal, but for now he's okay.

Yesterday, we tie dyed t-shirts- we were the oldest "kids" participating, LOL. I need a slow day today, as my feet are getting blistered from continual beach walking!
