Thanks! But she's so healthy and a veggie too! She stopped Celexa but was put on Lexapro, its sister drug, very similar in composition.

Dizzy, I can see why you and Jean have a connection. You're funny and caring, and really help keep the Topa thread on their toes. Everyone is welcome here. I wish people on other threads wouldn't feel intrusive on our very close friendships. We love having new people join in our madness. The last few weeks have been full of pain and losses, for too many of us, so we're not our usual mad posters. You are welcome here anytime, so please come back to post.
UPDATE: Just talked to Sunny's daughter, and she's still in testing at the hospital. That is good, so maybe they can pinpoint the problem. Told her how much her mother means to us, and that there is a whole thread dedicated to her. AND, to tell Sun how worried we all are.

Ah Ruby, thats so sweet of you. I guess everyone has their little spot on this site and it can be a little scary to enter into a new thread, so thank you kindly for welcoming me here.

This site has truly changed my life as I havent been that open to everyone about my drinking. I have my recovery friends and I have other friends and perhaps I shouldn't be that way but I've always been a very private person so its difficult for me to share. But on here I feel like I can just be myself. Especially so as I'm a writer and I've always been more comfortable with writing than talking.

The only problem I have now is that I'm getting so involved with the site that its actually eating into my work time! I work from home so I better be more strict about how much time I spend on here.

But there are worse things I could be spending my time on and I used to spend my afternoons 'working' while sipping wine anyway, so at least now I'm sober. I also have a huge amount of stress as I'm moving to the UK in a month, my bf is house hunting this weekend without me, its his birthday tomorrow, he signs his contract on Monday. I just signed a huge contract, my dad just had a huge colon operation and is due another and my mom is really low on bipolar. Oh did I mention that Topa totally changed me for the good and now I'm not sure how I'll get on with my bf who still drinks?

But there you are in a cast and I'm sure every one of you have problems and issues and no problem is a big enough excuse to drink. Friday nights are the only nights I really miss drinking as it was the night I would feel Phew, finally now I could feel I 'deserve' a drink. Its my forth one so I know this feeling will go and with the Topa its just a mild discomfort instead of a white-knuckling hunger.

I'll check back and get to know everyone. For now please look after yourselves. Life is so precious and we only get one shot. I know a lot of us already had quite a few close calls. I told Jean on Sunday night that I believe God sends people across our path for a reason so perhaps there is a reason we are all here - to learn from each other.

PS: And everytime I see your avatar my heart melts as it looks just like my kittie Maxamaui looked like when he was a kitten...well without the cast of course. Now he is huge but he still pays daily cuddle tax.

Been thinking of you all today. I am just floored about Sun! She seems so healthy. Lord, I am not gonna whinge on about my stuff-- I need to get drastic because I have just gotten lucky that that stuff has not happened to me! I hope it all works out -- Sunny-- I am thinking of you!!

My crazy mother today told me my blood pressure was not really high and there are no cardiac risk factors in our family. She needs to be committed. Clearly this is why she almost died from an aortic aneurysm, albeit the doc told her flat out it was due to her smoking-- her dad had a heart attack!! ( he used to be a big boozer-- had a heart attack before 40-- stopped booze, never another issue) okay, look I may be losing weight but being overweight is linked to heart risks. She is insane. I only answered the phone because my dads cancer check results were supposed to be back this week-- they weren't and I told her just email them to me. What a case.

Ruby-- how old is your daughter if I may ask? I got the impression she was mid 30s bot not sure why. Is she hoping for any specific gender or are you? I can't remember the breakdown of gender and ages of all your grands now but this one would be the caboose by about 6 or 7 years right?

Fen-- I heard a rumor wild eyed crazy Paula may be dating a woman now... But I think it could be due to serious financial trouble she is in... Though I do have a feeling about her.

ATL, daughter is 38, as of yesterday. Her youngest is 6, Ry (adopted) is 7, and AB will be 12 in July. She says this is HER baby, and we have no gender preference. She did mention it would be nice to have a little girl like Jack, since AB has been a wild-child since birth. We'll love any and all we're blessed with.
Sorry about your mother. Yes, she's a freak. Do what I said, tell her crazy things when she ask questions or makes off-the-wall statements. Make her wonder what's going on, mess with her mind, like she does with yours.

Okay, Rubes and all...it's looking less and less like Sun had a mini - stroke, and more like an adverse reaction to being yanked off her AD so suddenly. So, try not to worry!

A tech is going to her place tomorrow to sort out her internet, so hopefully she'll be posting tomorrow night. :h
