Thanks to those who welcomed me. I will look forward to getting to know you. MamaBear, I saw your other thread and you seem to be struggling. I had a hard time whenever I tried in the past to quit. This time I have the Jason Vale book and lots of vitamins and supplements. I think I will manage it this time. I already have a lot of days last month that I didn't drink. I can't take any drugs like Antabuse because of a medical condition. So are the other members of this thread AF (alcohol free) too? And if I'm not too snoopy, for how long? It would really help me to know that others can do it, I can too.

Hoping, you are not snooping. Some are AF, some moderating, some still struggling. It's a long battle if we don't find our way. So everyone here fully understands what you're going through. I'm so glad you found this place. Most here work a lot, and can't be here constantly, but we're still here and listen.
Just join in, and speak up. We all welcome newcomers, but we can to get crazy occasionally. Just join the party, but if you post a problem that all stops, and we're all in it to help. Hang around, OK?

Hallo everyone. puff, pant, puff. Gosh - I am really puffing...... having been in the garden SO long already today - just lugged 6 50lb bags of dirt, plus 6 bags of mulch and am busy mixing the dirt in to my raised beds - have come in for a break. PUFF !!! Hopeing - welcome. i have been remiss in welcoming you. NO you are not snooping - anything goes on our thread including me telling you that Ruby is OLD. OLDER THAN ME. OLDER THAN GOD. OLDER THAN THE WORLD. Ahem - back to welcoming you. I have my times of being AF - but don't have too much of a problem with AL. In fact some here thionk I don't have a problem - but I do, which makes it a problem. I can have two then stop. But drink most days when I do drink - which is a problem. SO, I would like to be AF again. I was at the beginning of the year until I had a trip to England to see my family and started again.

Jan - I laughed at you eating the butt of the bunny - I don't like chocolate bunnies so don't eat any part of them. In fact this Easter haven't even had any Cadbury Cream eggs seeing as they didn't do the Orange ones this year - Boo.

Ruby - hope you are on the mend but it does take longer to heal when you are old. I think I had better get back outside before I am within your reach - LOL

Morning all. Well - morning for me. Probably afternoon where you all are.

Hoping - :welcome:I am one of the ones still struggling. I get a month or 3 AF and then slide back into thinking that I can moderate. Moderation has NOT worked for me and it never will. I need to get that set in my mind. There are some on here that have years of sobriety so it can be done.

Bird - glad that your cub is home. Was The Hunger Games good? We already harvested all our radishes and have replanted some. We have onions & cucumbers and tomato and pepper plants. Plus our pumpkin plant, of course.

Fennel - Welcome home. WOW!!! An arrowhead!!!!! That is so fantastic!!!

Mama - I don't have a bunny to bite! :H

Ruby - Is your face still really bad???? You poor thing. You need to make all the dogs sleep in another room. Of course, now I'm looking at dog stairs so that Molly can get up on our bed by herself. :H

MB, Hubs offered to give her up, but she's almost nine, and I can't imagine anyone else would want her. Can't be cruel to an animal, but she's SO jealous of Hubs. He's been really trying to keep her away from me, but he's never here. I'm stuck with her. When I get up now, I feed her and put her in the fenced backyard. He complains about Berit shedding, and some of you may remember the crap I've been through with FIL, and now Sadie? I'll put a cane in front of me now when I get up. Yes, my face still looks like a truck hit it, so much so I can't go out in public. Not a big problem for me, really.
Fen, I'm so glad you found the arrowhead. So cool. When you come remind me to show you mine. They don't always look like those you see in the movies. Some are so old they look like nothing more than a sharpened rock. Prehistoric Indians lived in the cabin area, and simply turning the soil sometimes unearths them. So there's gold panning and Indian head searching already on the menu. Are you going to be here a month?? :H

I do too, MB, but both are so finicky. Be sure your impatiens (momma called them impatients!) are not in direct sunlight and water often. Until I get more help, I'm planting Knockout roses. They bloom from early spring until frost or freeing. They make great shrub roses, since they are short and compact. Don't make great cut flowers usually, but are spectacular for so long. I passed the county memorial in the neighboring county the other day, and there is a huge grouping of them around it. Lots of government, town beautification sites are using them now. If you haven't tried them, give them a go. You won't regret.
Have been trying to catch up the laundry, but my back feels like I was twisted in half. Will see an orthopedic doc tomorrow, if I can. Otherwise, everything is much better other than the facial bruising. Sorry to whine so much, promise to be quiet about it.
