I have a really really strong feeling that Ireland will turn itself round in the relatively near future tho --- just 'underneath' factors seem to be a bit more positive --- and I just feel anyone who can muddle through the next year or so we'll be back on course for better things -- I keep telling my young people all this tho and they don't really believe me --- just a feeling in my waters really - 'spose being an older bird here, I've lived through quite a few recessions and it just 'smells' like the beginning of a recovery to me Anyway - must fly or I won't be working either :bye bye:

Back from me screaming great ride on the young horse. I love training young horses, partic mares - I get on well with the young 'uns!
For you lover-ly army folk in Irishland - well, i can't imagine how you're dealing with that shit. It must be very hard on all .....high unemployment, higher costs of living,......I can only hope that it gets better for all of you.
In Oz, partic in west Oz, we are still in this mining boom, which sees all these trade-based occupations doing fly in- fly out shifts to the big mines up north, earning big big dollars. They earn more as plumbers & electricians & even cleaners than what I can earn as a vet. it rebounds back to the prices of food, power, telephone, commodities...but those workers in that industry can happily continue to buy new cars, TV's, investment properties, & all the mods cons for their kiddies. i find it disgusting.
We call them "CUBs" which stand for Cashed Up Bogans, & bogan is the term we used in the '80's for people who loved ACDC, wore skinny black jeans that caused oxygen deprivation to the genitals, grew mullet hair do's, & drove muscle cars with furry dice hanging from the rear vision mirrors. Such is the return of the Bogan.
Our economy is booming thanks to the resources, but at the price of agriculture & to some degree the ecology & diverse wildlife that is present here. Mining is trying to claim some of our pristine outback & natural bush.
I'm in 2 minds about it I suppose : seeing the jobs that can be created & the boost for our economy, versus the "leave it alone" policy for our farmland/nature reserves/cattle stations/outback.
While the world goes to hell in a handbasket, our stoopid population here can only focus on getting the newest ipad for their kiddy's ultra-hip school term.
How crazy.

Corrie, just had a proper read of your post. Thanks for the info, hun.
It's blooming great that we can get info on MWO about how the rest of the world is faring from people actually living it. Rather than picking up a few lines on TV or the newspaper. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Happy Tuesday all! Running a bit late - I have been sleeping in an extra 15 minutes for some reason...and it feels damn good! LadyJan I had hernia surgery in February - those things are terrible. I hope you get all fixed up. Tips - feel better. Still Booggerville around here with allergies. Even my dog has had a sneezing attack just now (now THAT was odd). Gotta go iron a shirt for husband-man - told him I woudl get some laundry done last night but instead spent the evening with my little Em putting together Easter treat bags for her pre-K class. That was much more fun than ironing!
Sorry if I missed anyone - I will read back at work if I have a sec. Smoochies to all of you.

morning all, thanks for my balloon expat red is my favourite colour too.
I swear the army has more sick people than a doctors office right now so sending good vibes and get wells to ya'll xD
As for myself, woke up feeling like hell (go figure xD) after some pretty crazy vivid dreams, but 3 coffees, breakfast and a lengthy chill out session later and I am feeling awake and ready to go, got 2 weeks off and have compelted 20 of 45 portraits so lots to do, plus hopefuly tribute art for Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley (died April 5th, 18 years ago and 10 years ago respectively). Still feeling positive, focusing on the good things - like manging to play bass at half 10 without giving up because I'm too drunk and everythign sounds sloppy, or actually reading before bed instead of forgetting to get itno my pjs and passing out. Think I could get used to this, when I hit a week I'm rewarding myself, thinking of buying one of Eddie Vedder's solo albums, gotta love that man xD
anyway, happy tuesday to ya'll, hope everybody has nice days at work/at home/etc xD
xICI have faced it, a life wasted, and I am never going back there again
To ya'll my name is inchy. I am an alcoholic - and priority number one is making it to the end of this day AF. No excuses.
