Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I too read the other thread and it gets real frustrating to see people take sobriety lightly. I worked too damn hard to get sober and stay sober. Yes i had days that were hard as hell to get thru but i fought minute by minute to stay sober on those days. If we are counting (and I am) then it has to be honest. We alcoholics are liars by nature of the disease/problem and we are only fooling ourselves if we play games with the numbers.
I use this site for real support. I have no one who really understands what this fight entails. I have plenty of people who would give me a pass in real life if I did drink. I feel frustrated when people come here for help to get sober but when they have a problem they go drink then come back here after to "fess up". Why not come here before you take the drink? There are so many steps you have to take and justify to yourself to go get the drink. Then after they go thru all that and feel like shit the next day, they want support to get sober again. It gets real frustrating to try to keep helping someone get up over and over again when they dont want your help to stay sober.
Just want to let you all know I APPRECIATE YOU!!!! If we cant be honest about where we really are in this battle we will never win it. And if we only want to hear what we want to hear, why come here and ask for advice. The long termers that do stick around and help have some REAL knowledge to share. Isnt that why we ask?
Ok, nuff said. Now i am off to the casino, hopefully they dont piss me off too
