Des...my Bret (hubs) is a macho man that played football for Florida State
he just found out his childhood best friend lost his father today.
Bret is crying cos he is so worried about his precious daddy now....
so sad....and it makes me love him even more

Omgod....so sorry to hear about Bret's friends father. When stuff like that happens it really hits home. I think it is so awesome that he is man enough to cry...you are a lucky wife!

I lost my father at a very young age. Over 30 years ago and I still miss him terrible. Cancer sucks.

yes it does..
Pop is 82 and failing due to Parkinsons...it is terrifying us and this really brought it home for hubs.
I don't know what to do but be there....and yes...I love a man that can cry
off to eat...will check back in if I hear from Niner

My mom has Parkinsons too. She has dementia as well. She's to the point now where she doesn't know our names anymore. So sad. She's 84.

My dad died when he was 54 and I was 16.

How is Pop mentally Mama? A lot of times dementia tends to go along with Parkinsons.

he has good days and bad...no dementia as I understand it to be, but he is sleepy and has a hard time talking and drools...
we constantly watch to make sure he won't fall or hurt himself
I am so sorry about your mom....I cannot imagine the pain her lack of recognition causes you and your family...
btw..I am a cancer survivor...thank God...and it does suck

Falling has really done my mom in. She fell and broke her orbital socket and bruised her brain and she fell a second time and broke her pelvis. Now she's confined to a wheelchair and can't walk anymore. Where does Bret's father live?

Pop lives about 30 minutes from us with Nana. They have been married 58 years or so
yes...I am a breast cancer survivor. Diagnosed at 39 with two small kids.....
chemo and radiation.....first treatment was 9-11-01!
I am great now....I decided the Devil didn't want me yet, cos he knew I would take over!!
I don't mean to make light of it...I knew many fellow patients that died and saw what their families went through......I was lucky
A broken orbital socket sounds absolutely horrible....poor thing
Pop fell through the attic a few months ago....
