    To reccie

I once poured half a bottle of vodka down the sink
It was one of the most satisfying things I have done in years
In fact I actually phoned a mate and let him hear the sound of it glugging down the sink on the other end of the phone

Not sure it cleaned my sink tho but it made me feel awesome!!
I have a drink problem, I have been AF since 15 March 2011 and I am working hard to stay that way

They don't call me Pingu Purple Pants for nothing....

Still can't believe the bargain I got with the jacket. I also got a gorgeous belt for less than ?2. I'm defo going to look more into charity shop stuff.

Is there room for one more in the cabin, Tips. I'll bet it's a blooming sight warmer than here.

If I remember well, a few days ago you posted that you had gone for a long run and that you'd thrown up afterwards. It's not necessary that you run in the London Marathon so why don't you go for something easier for another few weeks and give those ribs a chance to heal completely. :l

The host and most of the others are related to each other and one of Mr. Stirly's childhood friends became friends with all of them some years ago. We got introduced to them through Mr. Stirly's friend a few years ago and they welcomed us right from the first time we spent Easter Day with them. All very simple, good people who enjoy nothing better than opening their home to family and friends. The host's brother-in-law always brings his lap top and provides us with music. There where we were enjoying the Greek music, all of a sudden I heard this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHt1DgeRwuo[/video]]Something to sing about "The Canada song" - YouTube

He had gone to Youtube and played a song about Canada just for me. When I told him how much I appreciated it, his answer was that since everyone else was listening to Greek music for so long, that he thought I should hear a couple of Canadian songs. What a thoughtful man.

                          Army Thread Monday 16th April

I'm out of the bath and getting dressed on my way to seeing my alcohol worker/therapist for my regular Monday evening session, so I only have a few moments to post.

I've clearly disappointed some people by my decision to buy whisky last night and I wanted to explain it a little. It wasn't an impulsive decision driven by alcohol cravings, it was planned. I saw it as a necessary step to ensure that my future sobriety is properly grounded, so that I don't spend all my time wondering can I /can't I drink. My objective was to demonstrate to myself once and for all that I can't drink so that I can kick alcohol out of my life altogether. I'm not going to allow myself to go back down the slippery slope and I plan and fully expect to clock up another 3 months AF soon and then some.

Sorry, I have to go now but I wanted to reply to the well-intentioned posts quickly as I won't be back until late. Hope my explanation makes some kind of sense.

We have a loooooong long weekend coming up at the end of April, though. I've booked us a wooden cabiin on the Garden Route - just outside a town called Knysna. It is one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa - I'll take piccies to post. The best of all is that Jasmine can go along - the place is pet friendly.I love that you will be taking Jasmine with you. That just shows how very much a part of your family she has become. Will your Ma be going with you as well? How is she doing anyway?

I absolutely adore wooden cabins. :h I once had the priviledge of staying in a log cabin on Grouse Mountain north of Vancouver. The bathroom had walls made out of cedar shake. It was so beautiful.

I forgot to tell you - younger son and his girlfriend are going to take a trip to Cape Town sometime this summer, I think. She won 4 nights at a hotel and they have a friend who can get them really cheap air fare so they're going to SA!! Having "seen" a bit of SA via Google "street view" I was delighted when he told me. If you get a chance, maybe you could give me a wee must-see list for Cape Town. I just love it when they get to visit new places.

They don't have charity shops here Jackie. Apparently there are a couple of second-hand stores in the centre of Athens but I have never been to them. I'm afraid they would be full of old clothes that people had taken there to sell because they were short of cash and that they wouldn't be in good condition. I guess I need to check them out sometime to see exactly what they are selling. Anyway, :goodjob: on both the jacket and the belt. We had great used clothing shops in Canada way back when I was still in my late teens. I remember I got a gorgeous forest green suede jacket for about $10. I wasn't half chuffed with myself.

Ach Reccybear, I'm not disappointed, hun. Just it's a shame that we have to go through this rite of passage so to speak to prove to ourselves we're not or never going to be normal drinkers.

Anyway you know I'll be lurking around midnight. I wanna see what you've got me for me birthday.
