Hi, gang.

Here's the latest on our tech projects:

We're making excellent progress on DrinkTracker fixes--once again--and it's going well. I had an opportunity to review updates today and I see the archive problem has been resolved (it's not yet live). The programmer is now addressing our dual login issue. We're getting closer, and the new and improved version should be available to you soon! (New members, this application is available at the bottom of the forum home page under "Tools".)

Please note: all inactive rows in DrinkTracker will be deleted for the month of February. I understand it represents many idle accounts as well as those members who are having problems logging in. If you happen to fall in the latter category, don't worry...as soon as the glitches are resolved, you'll be able to log in and begin posting again.

We have some other exciting technical developments underway that I'll be reporting on soon. One involves a feature I'd like to activate that allows all of you to provide member feedback. It's called "User Reputation" and you may have seen something like it on other message boards. A small icon represents user rating based on the quality of posts as determined by members in the community. (As I understand, you may decide whether or not you wish to display the icon.) It can be particularly helpful to new members and of course, the number of member posts will continue to be displayed. As always, I'll look to you for feedback as we give it a test drive.

And finally, development continues on the MWO Subscriber Service which we hope to launch in March. Again, it's a bundle of opt-in, enhanced services in addition to everything that will always be available here, free of charge. :-) More about that later, as well.

Hi RJ, sounds as if we are in for some exciting times up ahead...All the new stuff sounds great, especially the User Reputation thingy which will help determine the quality of posts, haven't seen one yet, do we get to vote a post when we read it??

Help trouble shoot DrinkTracker

Thanks gang, for the feedback and for your patience as we get DrinkTracker working smoothly. Thanks also to a member who spent quite a bit of time helping me trouble shoot today.

If any of you who have had problems with logins, double logins, or passwords could test at our development site (where the programming is taking place) and report back, I'd sure appreciate it. Today our helpful member reported the following:

* Unable to log in to the test area with her current user ID and password
* No problem logging in to the board with the same
* Had never logged in to DrinkTracker in the past
* Hadn't changed her password since establishing the MWO account
* Was able to log in using a test user ID and password I provided
* When attempting to log in, got a password error message

So this has us stumped...

However, specific information of this type is really helpful to our programmer. I'll point him to this thread directly if we get more feedback.

Here's how it'll look alphabetized, although we haven't yet propagated the fields or cleared out the dormant rows:

The programmer tells me the double entry problem and "view archive" issue should be fixed now and the alphabetizing work is complete. But we need to make sure all's working okay before we clean out all those extra users and move it to the live area.

It doesn't work for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really weird. I log in ok to the website CANNOT use the drink tracker and then I tried the test site and it doesn't work for me either.
There is gotta be an answer. Is it anything to do with the way my computer is configured or my internet options? This is truly confounding me. I don't want to change my username or password but then again I could with a new identity get a new lease of life. Thanks for all your work RJ but I still need help.

Roberta, what does this do exactly? I am confused in the sense it could be beneficial to new members? I personally think if people were to 'vote' on particular posts, it might scare off any newbies from posting in fear their posts don't hold any merit or substance or something?? If some people receive 'rating based' posts and others don't it might make people feel there is something wrong with what they said. Being addicts we already have self esteem issues, don't you think this may contribute towards it? I dunno, confused.... Just my two cents.

Thanks, a bunch...wow, you folks aren't going to make this easy, are you? Ha. And don't worry about the double login on the alpha site, that's not been addressed, I only presented it to show you how the ABC's looked. The test site is the one with updated programming code.

Melon, have you decided on the name change? :-)
