Just read over this thread real fast....think I have the just of it. I gotta say that sex is so wonderful being sober. Never knew it to be so good. Alcohol covered all the real feelings up. I'm sure it has all to do with being with the right lover but by being sober ya can tell that better too.

With alcohol its just about sex. Even if its with your spouse.

At least thats what I think.

i keep replying in the wrong forums /threads or whatever..hope I get the hang of this soon so bear with me.
Just wanted to say how degraded I have felt by not being sober when being intimate with my hubby. how awful to admit to this really!!
On the days I have been sober i,ve had to look at myself and face any fears or self doubts..real and imaginary before and during being intimate with my husband.How shameful to recall more times under the influence of alcohol making love than when totally alcohol free.
I dont want to get too personal on this subject..BUT it is a great feeling to go to bed sober having showered , got make up off and perfume on.
Nothing worse in the morning than feeling disgusted at having a drunken grope and falling into alcohol induced sleep snoring and passing stinky wind!!!

i tried to reply earlier but as i said it went on the wrong bit of this forum I think??

Cant believe i am discussing this issue really....By the way at present on the moderation hope..done 2 nights AF and going out tonight with a pllan of 2 wines and a coffee...we shall see !!!!i can but try.

OMG....I am ever so grateful for the humor and the wisdom and the understanding expressed here! You have no idea! (well, actually, I think you do. that's why i read this w/ tears in my eyes....) This is a second marriage for me. And of the last 4 1/2 years of that marriage, probably only about 10 nights have I gone to bed w/out at least one drink. Usually far more than one. That's one of the reasons I married him. For the first time in my life, it was o.k. to drink. And after 15 years of a bad marriage, losing my father in a horrible accident, then my son joining marines and going it Iraq (yada, yada, yada...we all have our own stories)....so yeah, I forgot what it is like to have sex sober. but i'm thinking of incorporating some new thoughts into my hypnotic c.d.'s.....

I also have not had sober sex for quite a while and i think (i did mention this on another thread) that i am going to try and do it on Wednesday as it is valentines an my new bloke has invited me round to his place for the night...am scared...i know im a swine whilst drunk but i dont know how ill be when sober. I really like this guy so i suppose that should take over???im still scared tho!!!
