Not really - not until she's completely off. Her parents are LOADED but her mum and the government have told her if she wants to leave the house BEFORE she gets clean she has to leave the kids behind...it's a very complex situation, and I consider myself lucky that her mum 'allows' me to take the kids occasionally. She REALLY is a bad, bad woman (the mother) but, as I say, it's one hell of a complex situation. I do as much as I can, and have to let a lot of it go, through prayer and hope etc....thanks for your concer, Starts, it's nice for me to talk. My kids are aware of her situation and they are great when I have her kids here - playing the X-box with her two older kids, etc...noice!

LadyJ, I'm sorry I'm not the one to ask about the lappys - I have had this one here for over a year and I just had to put the top down to see what make it is :H:H:H - so that's your answer in a nutshell, sorry!

I would imagine that the serenity prayer would be going through my mind continuously in that situation. Wow, I am so very lucky I dont have those issues.

How are things with Mary Rose?

Yup Compaqs are great too. I had one as a work lappy before

Totally Starts - the serenity prayer is most frequently used - I have absolutely NO control over the situation, but that's OK, I can BE there for my friend.

I saw Mare for the 1st time in 3 years for an hour last Christmas holidays. It was a very short time we had with each other, but we both know that our patience will be rewarded. She started boarding school this year and I was able to smuggle her my mobile number and she found it - so we text and talk HEAPS now. It's been absolutely AMAZING - she is still 'my' daughter, in who she is as a young woman, and it's nothing short of a miracle. Not long now, starts, and she will be able to see me of her own free will. It's been a fucking disgusting 14 years as far as that situation has gone, but I'm getting there. Without a doubt it was my 'slip' trigger with my alcoholism/sobriety - very often.

Morning all, so glad to be here clearheaded on a Saturday!

Jan I am delighted that Ollie is back and hope things work out for you.

I'm off to exercise class at 9 and then I'm sticking close here all day. I've got the last front buttonhole rib to do on me cardi and have horrible feeling that I'm going to need another ball of wool, how frustrating is that! Anyway that's my project for the afternoon and if I have to go out to get another ball of wool I might buy some more and make something for one of the daughters.

Forecast horrendous for the whole weekend, 2 inches of rain due tomorrow.

Have a good day folks, back later
