Missy, i have a silk dressing gown i got in Singapore. I actually never wear the thing, but geez it looks da bomb. Yer summer gown really. (oh look, there's the pink tassle i dropped earlier)

:H They do look great G! And it would be nice to live in a place where we could wear summer robes all year around! Mind you, my brother lives in Singapore - he reckons that as muchas he enjoys living in a tropical climate, he sometimes gets bored with the same-ness. So when he goes on holiday, it is usually to really cold places!!

Thinking of Singapore always makes me wonder about how Sweaty Betty is.

Ayway, I have just returned from my shopping trip and the discovery that there are literally two places in Wellington city that sell men's dressing gowns And they pretty much come in navy blue or black, neither of which I thought that Mr B would like. Why aren't there more places selling them and greater variety? Anyway, I splashed out and got him the expenisve one - a very tasteful grey Baksana "New York Robe". He practically lives in his dressng gown, so I figure if he has a good one that keeps him warm at least we will save on heating :H

Today I realised something. I really REALLY want a walk in pantry. My Aunt had one when I was a kid and it was pure magic. My cousins and I and our dogs used to spend hours in there with the door shut spying on people.
I 'd ve loved to have been able to incorporate a WIP when we did our kitchen reno. We made a few mistakes with this kitchen and they're just too expensive to rectify. But warning to any future kitchen renovators.... beware of the design of ILVE cooktops.

              QUOTE]

              HERE I AM!!!

Been off air for so long... sorry... I'm getting worse at organising my time. SInce I was last on I have:
Visited my ill girlfriend and helped her son with his homework. Listened to her dad who is not coping with her illness. He is "old school" and won't/can't talk to his male friends about what he's going through, so i said I'd have a chat to him next time I'm there (which will be in a few hours from now) . Have also organised to bring sick friend over to my place and to visit Kiama or some seasidey place next week afer her chemo. It will provide a little respite from each other for them both. Meanwhile I have found... Elisabeth Kubler Ross is so bloody dreary . And not very helpful. "I don't know what to say" (which incidentally is what I said to her last week) by Robt. Brookman is full of good advice.
Have cooked up a heap of spag bol to take over later to-day so her dad can have a rest from cooking dinner. If I lived closer I could be on hand more easily if they wanted help.
Hmmmm, wonder if I should offer to take the kids to the zoo?

Went to Wingello a couple of days last week and no internet there, so no contact with Undies. And will be there again on Sat spreading 5 tonnes of soil I had delivered. It doesn't go far.

And was busy for a couple of days with Vesak preparation for my scripture class.
So that's why I've been off the air.

Did everyone get their Lindt chocolate with their DELICIOUS magazine? Mine is orange. What did other Undies get? I'm going to try to do a Tawny and only have one square a day....

                Missy, Missy, Missy,
I may be coming over to Bay of Islands for a week in August .... my girlfriend in Qld needs to use her time share allocation. Her partner who recently had a (not too serious) heart attack has convinced himself that he is not able to do things like that (he's a bit of an old woman... whatever that means), so she has asked me. So, I may be able to organise to see you.

I saw my dentist last week. Amongst other things he is working out a care plan for one of my teeth that is eventually going to have to come out. And he gave me a packet of Picksters. I thought dental floss was the ants pants, but I just lurve the grey picksters... He is so gentle and caring and professional. He has such a soft gentle manner about him and expressions such as raison d'etre just roll off his tongue..... sigh...... I think I'm in lurve with him......

As there was nothing on tv last night I watched Saving Grace.

OK have to get ready to nip over to my friend.

Remember learning in school about the great rip roaring scientific expeditions that went to all corners of the globe to observe the transit of Venus in 1769 including the great Lt. James Cook? Well, we will have our only chance of seeing the last transit of Venus in 2012..........

In 1772, the French astronomer royal, C?sar-Francois Cassini de Thury, wrote: "It won't be until 2012 that the transit of Venus will be nearly as advantageous as it was in 1769." Well, it is 2012 now. Go to a hardware store and buy yourself a sliver of shade 14 welding glass. Then, on 5 or 6 June, without having to take any of the risks faced by 18th-century astronomers, witness from your doorstep one of the great wonders of the scientific world:

I’m off to Mitre 10 for some welding glass.

                      Morning Kids!
Congrats for AF milestones to those in the drawer.
Missy, sometimes finding things online is easier than searching everywhere and not finding what you want.
Rags, so good to see you. Giving respite is incredibly helpful to those in need of it. I used to do hospice (palative care) volunteering in America and give the carers a breaks a few hours a week. I loved it.
Nicey, I love online shopping sometimes. My husband is a spendthrift though, so I have to be crafty.
Ronnie, nice to see ya doll.
MoJo, agreed, about being sober and relationships.
Gster, I hope you have a lovely day. I will post Frank Breechs photo as soon as it arrives.

Back to the hospital to listen to baby for half an hour or so today. Baby has been moving around lots.

Frog, I have yet to find a good dentist, they're all so sterile and impersonal. rags, you're lucky you have a good one. My dentist in America still emails me sometimes to see how I'm doing. I usually see him when I go and visit, and he does my major dental work!

Another good show to checkout is called Southland. Yes, there really is all that crime going on America. The style of the show is a bit different from the norm which I like.

OOops, sorry Undies for the late checkage.

So good to see Raggsy make an appearance. I was starting to think she'd buggered off to do a sky-diving or extreme ironing course.

Found a recipe for Potato Farls ... so in honour of our lovely Paddy mate, KTAB, (whose calm presence I really miss) I had to have a go. It's got potential! Praise the humble spud.

Nothing earth-shattering to report ... just want to say g'day to the mates
