Lunchtime check in, and Desperate Housewives catch up (yes, I do).

What are we all planting and harvesting at the moment Undies?
I've got some beetroot and swede coming along, and the usual brassicas. Still getting tomatoes because of the long summer and loads of rain.

Is anyone harvesting spudies yet?

Oooh, garden catch up...load of lettuces - the cut and grow variety, spinach, chinese vege, masses of basil, snow peas, beans and butter beans, broccoli, tomatoes just starting to ripen and we have HEAPS on, spuds are looking good on the growth side and we are hoping to bandicoot some babies in the next few weeks, beetroot and carrot going well, stawberries in flower and sunflowers about to burst. And 4 cackleberries each day...they are improving now I'm giving them warm milk and bread every day.

I've got the chinese veg ready to pick at microveg stage (rather than thin) strawberries, broccoli Tuscan cabbage, peas in a hanging basket for an experiment, taties, sweet potato, cucumbers lettuce. Bought a curry tree recently too.
Just wondering when to plant Jerusalem artichoke. I think it's harvest time for that not planting.

Looking a tad, shall we say caramelized around the edges...but containing my fav fruit of all time, a la Nicey suggestion

In essence I think this is a banana cream pie without the cream on top, our American friends can correct me if I'm wrong. Crust was lovely and it was easy. Had show off photos of my golden eggs etc but thought best keep this brief.

OK - here's my chosen fruit



Then the stuff-up occurred. I'd taken note of the ingredients and just quickly read through the method and thought, easy-peasy, don't need to write this down. Wrong! Instead of sprinkling the cherries onto the base, I mixed them into the cream mix. It still worked but it was somewhat on the pink side of things. Didn't take pics of the slice but it did set really well, tasted great and I'd deffo do it again.
