Fen-- sorry about J's daddy-- that is the worst. growing old is not for sissies!
Okay-- the worst of the helicopter moms really chapped me today. This is one who has a kid that I guess Luke likes. The kid is a little wimpy for my tastes and I think luke will outgrow him soon since he already does alot of sports and this kid is destined to be a mathatlete and that is about it. But at any rate-- this is one of the ones where if they ask Luke over-- there must be reciprocity-- and belieev me-- I do try to reciprocate always with any of these so that I won't be dogged and also so I can get time off too but with this mom-- it is as soon as she has hosted-- she asks when we are having her kid over. I said-- okay-- um-- Wednesday? (Today). Yesterday she asks can it be Friday. look lady-- it is at my house, I set the date. So I say-- nope-- Friday Luke has piano. She then says her kid will be so distressed if it does not happen so let's keep it but he has swim team later Wednesday and she is afraid it is "too much"-- they are 6-- at this age-- nothing is too much!
This morning she texts me asking me not to give him any sugary snacks. An hour later she tells me exactly what I can give him. An hour after that she asks me not to mention to him that he has to swim the length of the pool as he might get very nervous and get a stomach ache. Aye yay yay.. I must also dress him in his swim clothes-- i am afraid to look at him wrong as I may be accused of bad touching!Comment

I have to really hold myself in check with my kids with 'friends' I feel use and abuse them (and me) because all my children see is a big playmate. It breaks my heart ! good luck. I will be thinking of you...On My Own Way Out Since May 20, 2012

Hi everyone - in from work, have fed dogs and tried to PM Rubes but her Pm box is full. I am off to work in the garden for an hour or two - then i need to sort out my clothes - I haven't sorted out my summer stuff yet and have such a job every day trying to find something to wear for work - so need to go through everything - what a bore!!
Anyway Ruby - if you happen to see this - I am thinking of you and hope you are feeling better - I know what you have been through with the dentist and you must be feeling pretty bad right now - sending lots of loving healing strength to you. Feel better my friend!!

Nora, I got a Toro recycler model. Has a mulching bag, but right now I'm opting for just shooting the cuttings everywhere. I have never purchased a lawn mower before....my own home here in town doesn't have a grass lawn...only plantings!
I was a bit nervous putting it together, etc. It worked just fine. I swear, the grass next to the cabin was two and a half feet high!
