    Okay - it is time for bed. I am suddenly so tired. the roofing men are coming tomorrow and I have no idea what time they plan on arriving. I assume they are coming anyway........

                  Finally home.

                  Today was hard. Pappy was all for hospice last night, but he was having second thoughts today. Helpfully, J also expressed doubts.

                  The man has stage four hepatic cancer. The last bout of chemo nearly killed him. He's too sick to go home, and he's discontinuing chemo. Right now, the inpatient hospice center is the best place for him. If he miraculously rallies, he can change his mind, end hospice, and go back to chemo.

                  J's brother is nagging for a second opinion at U of I. I don't want to seem like a doomsday kind of gal, but I honestly think a second opinion at this time is useless. And whatever time is left should not be spent feeling crappy from chemo.

                  Pappy finally was admitted to hospice tonight, and I had a come to Jesus meeting with Janet.

                  Just exhausted.

                      Oh Fen - I'm so sorry. I can understand everyone wanting second opinions and second guessing. But, truthfully, it sounds like it is close to the end. He needs to be able to be in peace. Where they can treat him for pain and give him good care. Not make the suffering worse.
