She's bit down as she's been in and out of hospital for over 3 months and missing here own home and going out etc Poor girl fel so sorry for her as she may be in a few weeks longer. She has good and bad days i guess we all would if we had cancer and were in hospital for weeks with various treatments being. I have heard in AA and from other people that giving al is only half the battle. Why do we pick up the drink in th first place and how to fill the void. Its tough i felt like a drink last night but it passed i knew what would happen if i went out and bought wine. As Molly said it gets harder every time you slip. Need to get out for a walk but feeling a bit tired see how i feel later. Really need more exercise. Well done on your weight loss reccie. I wear nearly 9 st but should be closer to 8 and i'm only 5ft and look chubby being short:blush:
Hiya foxy, hope your SIL can go home soon. I think you've hit the nail on the head there about why do we pick up the drink in the first place and how to fill the void.

Evening Foxy - ah your poor SIL - must be right tough alright!!Yeah Reccie, the shop is still struggling - but it's stopped going down just sort of hit it's own rock bottom The unfortunate part is tho that we virtually stopped taking a salary out of it temporarily - and neither of us can see how they can start taking money again - it'll just go into shit again, but we're beginning to live on fresh air - well my salary alright - but to say it's small ---- it's very very small - well paid public servant my arse! Anyway's I'm not really complaining - we've been to such a bad place this year personally - that money really now just has to take it's place rather than the be all and end all. As long as we can pay the bills...... wouldn't mind an oul lottery win mind you ---- only thing is, I don't do the lottery:H
Where the hell is everyone today - you me and Foxy and the rest all off gallivanting
Dropped a Mississipi Mud Pie on the kitchen floor about an hour ago --- and I didn't even scream - Joey gave me a big hug for my restraint:H
I know times are tough molly, but it's good you can see beyond the money and realise that some other things are more important. Well done on keeping calm over your Mississippi Mud Pie (gawd, that was a bugger to spell!) :l

Startypants - glad to hear you're having a fun, yet enlightening time in London with Chill.

Kapone - even tho you're most likely not reading this right now, maybe it's time for your son and girlfriend to find their own place to live. There comes a time, as they say. An alternative would be to write a list of what you expect them to do and tell them they are on a one-month probation and at the end of the month you will assess whether or not they will be allowed to continue to live with you. And if you do allow them to stay, the assessment will be made every month-end. If they don't meet your standards, they're out. Oh, and no moaning or sulking from them about what they are expected to do as far as housework, etc. etc. Put yer foot down. It's your house, not theirs.

Mrs. A, I can fully sympathize with you having your daughter and family living with you. We get used to having our own space and our privacy and peace and quiet and having others live with us again changes that so much and not always for the better. Good to hear you are feeling stronger today. I am so sorry about your daughter's Father-in-Law. Way too young to die.

Did I see a tiger flash by? Tipster, hope you had a lovely Sunday with your family.

Jackie - I trust you've spoiled Bess even more than usual today.

Oney-bint, I saw the pictures of your crystals on FB. They are really pretty. I love the fact that you and the kids went an hugged old trees. Getting kids in touch with nature is one of the best things you can do for them.

Reccie - :goodjob: on the weight loss. You must be very proud of yourself. I hope that you better understanding your relationship with AL will help you conquer it once and for all. Good that you are still seeing your alcohol worker. As for that odd feeling you had while on your walk, I had something similar happen to me a couple of years ago. Something like what happened to Molly. It was around Christmas time and I was driving home from my sons' place when they still shared an apartment not far from here. I got the weirdest feeling as I was driving home - like I wasn't really sure where I was even tho' I'd driven that stretch of road hundreds of times. It lasted for about 10 seconds and it was really quite disturbing. If I had been drinking, I'd have put it down to AL, but I was stone cold sober.

Foxy - sorry to hear about your Sister-in-Law. I hope they can keep her as comfortable as possible until her health improves enough for her to go home.

Molly, I'm am amazed at your positive attitude as far as the shop and the lack of income go. I'd be tearing my hair out with worry. Good for you on taking things in stride.

Foxy, Satz is away as well as is Mario. I expect Jackie has been baking a doggie cake and is now feeding Bess her share. I wonder if she blew out the candles? Bess, not Jackie.

Sorry for being so long in getting this post written. We had national elections today and I've been running back and forth between the living room and my "office" to see what the results are. For the first time in the history of Greek parliament, it looks like a Neo-Nazi party will have elected Members of Parliament. Mainly it has to do with the number of political and economic immigrants here in Greece. The number of them is quite frightening anymore.

Every day's a birthday for Black Bess. She suffers from spoilt rotten dog syndrome.

Although she has been a bit puzzled about why I keep singing Happy Birthday to yoooooooooo to her.

                      Evening stirly and jackie

What's gonna be the outcome of the elections stirly? Will the austerity measures get the boot?

Is it just you and Mr JC and BB on your camping trip JC?

I'm going camping soon too. My mum will be back from visiting her sister in Denmark on Tuesday and then Poppy is going to be bed and breakfasting with her while I'm in the Lake District. All I need is a forecast of a few days of decent weather.

Oh yes she'll be coming with us. We'll be huddled up with her for warmth by the looks of things.

The weather's got to change for the better soon.

Apparently he's chopped a load of wood already for his big sister.

Do you know I think he's so chuffed with his wee bit of land that he's been desperate to show it off.

Well so far, the party with the most votes is the right-wing, conservative party, followed by one of the communist parties. Third place is the main socialist party, then another right-wing-almost-nazi party followed by one of the main communist parties and then the Neo-Nazi party. To say the least, I'm a bit freaked out. I don't follow politics but I just wish to heck that one fecking politician in this country is in politics because he/she believes that she/he can do something to improve the conditions in this fair country. Okay, enough of that. I've got to walk Freddo innabit.

Reccie, I just don't know. I bet you have a better read on the situation than I do. We can't possibly go back to the drachma. I would be national suicide. As for the austerity measures, they've already cut basic pay and pensions. How much can the poor people take? Enough of that.

Reccie, I hope you get a stellar forecast - sunny, warm days for your stay in the Lake District. I've "visited" there via Google and it looks like a great place to go camping.

Jackie - hope you, as well, have good weather for your visit to Scotland. Damn, I am so jealous. In the positive sense.

                                Oney-bint, almost missed you there...

Well, it's that time again. Freddie is begging for his walk and I can't put it off any longer.

                                Wishing all of you....
