    Army Thread 11th May

    :hallo:

Just had the most amazing steak. Ribeye matured for about 45 days, BBQd over hot coals for about 5 minutes a side... Even if I say so myself, it's probably the best steak I've ever cooked myself. I'm also completely stuffed and useless after overeating...

Wow, Stirly - I can't believe how those trees have grown!

Can't wait to hear how it went, JC.

Great news about your mom and the treatment she received, Zennie :l

Tipster, glad to hear you enjoyed your meal so much. We used to go out quite often for a steak dinner in Canada. The place we liked was called "The Ponderosa Steak House". They had the most delicious, tender steaks and a great salad bar and fab baked potatoes with sour cream. Yum, yum. I have only had steak in a restaurant a few times here in Greece and only once was it comparable to the steak we ate in Canada. Mind you, I don't miss it that much since I really, really like grilled lamb chops. YUMMO!!!

And yes, those trees have grown a lot. Thank goodness. Because the apartment building across from us was empty for the first few years we lived here and now all the apartments are occupied. Those trees give us privacy we wouldn't have without them.

Pingu, is it good or bad that you lost 4 pounds? You might not want to lose any more or those nice new clothes you bought won't fit properly. I'm mainly referring to a really cool pair of purple jeans you bought not that long ago.

its good mate, I had put on a bit due to non stop eating of chocolate bars, those purple jeans were a bit tight. Mind you I'm suffering a bit tonight, a bit shaky, it's like withdrawal from al just not quite as severe.....

Hiya Foxy!! Glad you enjoyed your curry. I have only once eaten curry and I didn't like it. But because of all the posts I've seen about curry both here and on the Undies thread, I have to assume that what I ate wasn't authentic curry and just something that someone threw some curry powder on, that probably didn't go well with the other ingredients and called it a curry. I would really like it if someone would give me a simple but tasty curry recipe to try. Mind you, I'm totally hooked on Greek food so a curry would be a challenge to my palate. But I'm willing to try it just to see if I like it. Just nothing too complicated that I need to buy a dozen different ingredients for or that call for ingredients that aren't available here. Mind you, there ar several Indian restaurants not too far from here so I guess I could go to one and try a dish or two. The problem is that I really don't trust them as far as the freshness of the food goes. Feck, I wouldn't want to get curry poisoning.

Pingu, if you've lost the weight because of cutting down on the chocolate, then that is good. I also read back on yesterday's thread and saw that the lower dose of the AD's seem to be agreeing with you. I'm really happy for you that you are feeling so good. I know you had a bit of a struggle there for a while.
