    army thread fri 18 may...

ooh it was where the daughter works and it was free.

Ate everything I shouldn't. Me and her shared a Mezze Platter and a parma ham and cheese sarnie with fries. SIL had a steak and onion giganto sarnie with a side salad.

Having a day off from SW. I can get back with the plan tomorrow.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Ahoy there me hearties! I'm sitting up in bed on a chilly and verrrrry windy Saturday morning, feeling like a pig in shite!! I love the weekends soooo much - that extra hour or two to lie in is like a lotto win sometimes!!

Had a brief skim over the thread (!) - hope your night is awesome, expat... and zen, sounds like you've had an interesting visitor! Noice.

Hey guys....what is CRAIC?? Not sure, and I thought i had it in the right context the other day, but just read the word in a totally different sentence and it threw me again :H:H

I'm off to see me dad soon, shall spend some time there and then it will be FREE time :H I think I will go SHOPPING!!

Wishing you all a warm (or cool if applicable!) and hearty AF Friday evening, or whatever the hour may be

            :hallo: yet again, Army

Had a lovely meal. Plus we've found the venue for Mrs. T's 50th b'day party in two weeks' time. We've made the booking and will go and see the guy next Saturday to decide on a menu. We'll do a set menu with meze, bread and salad to start with, then a meat / vegetarian main followed by some beaut Greek desserts. Yum. Bonus: our guests can bring their own damn wine if they feel like drinking - they won't charge us any corkage. In fact, they're very indifferent to wine at the place. A really lovely little place - it only seats 30 or so people.

Both the moussaka and kleftiko was excellent tonight. I had a galaktoboureko for dessert. Bloody good, I tell ya. Haven't had it before: a lemony-flavoured custard baked in phyllo pastry.
            I'll do whatever it takes

                From Urban Dictionary:

                Craic,

Irish word for fun/enjoyment that has been brought into the English language. usu. when mixed with alcohol and/or music.
'Bhi craic agus ceol againn' : We had fun and music.
Fun doesn't really cut it though. General banter, good times had by all.
Also, a person who is good fun/great company.
                It was great craic.
She's great craic when she gets going.
He's great craic when he has a few pints on him.
                What's the craic?
                How's the craic?
                The craic was mighty.

Note: Very tricky to get away with saying this in the US without getting strange looks for police officers.

In ACTUAL fact, I am going to do just that.

I had a birthday party tonight and I cancelled. I'm going to sit in and see if I can coax Reccy into playing Words... ) I just emailed Cheryl and told her I'll drive folks home tonight if it's required. Especially her...

I'm getting up shortly, if I don't make it back to the army before you all sleep, sleep sweetly and I'll see you all on the rotation of the world :l:h:thanks:

I'm headed off to bed, I reckon. It's way past my usual bedtime for a Friday - I'm fading fast but still want to read a bit of my book. I found an eBook edition of one of James A Michener's novels. A bit of a blast from the past. I'll see if I get into it or not.
