Glad to see your still doing Great Dixon, sounds like your doing all the things that work for you atm.
It's normal to crave as soon as your body starts to "feel normal" so expect them and be ready to surf them and watch for your triggers but also watch out for any fu@K it moments/ not so much craving that builds slowly but a knee jerk reaction and not always to a bad situation.
I have had these and once you know you can get over them , they will get easier.

It's simple, your starting to feel normal again, your starting to forget how it made you feel, i'm sure at times your starting to think "i can control this" , " all i need to do is drink a bit less/Modd".
Well what worked for me is i never let them thought's start, if they did they would snowball into me drinking again. i know this because it happened too many times.
You really have to think/believe that it is a poison and that you have to be mad to poison your self.
You have nearly 3 weeks over you and have started the process of rebuilding your life, just remember it's your choice, you can have a good life and try to move on from where you were or you can lift the bottle again and be back to square one.

                  Thanks MM,
The high lighted lines really worked for me .Now the cravings passed away and feeling normal .What I did,
Quickly ran over to home closing my eyes and watching my urges , took some snacks and got a couple of hours sleeping. When woke up everything were OK.Now feeling winner !.I am now surfing Internet keeping plenty of hopes.
MM you are really kind of you.

I have to say that my worst time was the first 4 weeks; I have been so busy this past few weeks that even when I thought of a drink I knew it would seriously interfere with my plans. Make commitments of some sort, maybe volunteering for a charity, restart an old hobby...
I see you commented on another thread that you may be feeling a little bit down today. Hold on tight. You are doing so well.
Remember how you feared so seriously for your health when you first came here.....you really don't want to go down that road again. You are a real inspiration to others here; remember that too.

                            Daisy45,
How matching am I with you ? I also wanted to use me busy all the time with some social commitments.I am fun of doing social works ,I feel happy/cheer up doing so.
The problem is that I do not have the fixed time to give them up .My job is really not on time table ,some weeks days and other nights. Some times,I will be free for three/four days in a week and may be none of the days for some.So I am trying to find the charity which runs for 24 hours so that I can go and help when I am free . Have you got any idea about it ?.I am based in London .
I would like to put my whole efforts/free time to do something for community.
If I get that flexible job, I will really be able to give up this booze.
                            Many thanks for your suggestion.

I am sure there are bound to be many charitable causes in the London area who could do with a hand at any time. Why not pop into a charity shop and ask - they normally have connections. Soup kitchens for the homeless? They may be church-based - wouldn't be hard to find out. Youth clubs. Checking in with the elderly. You may have a special skill that they could use? Or just plain old helping them serve teas or dinners.
I volunteer for a drama group - I don't act but I do enjoy artwork so I do backdrops and props for them; it's a 2-way thing - I feel good for helping out and also enjoy their craic and they get the help.
I am thinking of looking to help out at another group as I find I have more time on my hands since being AF; good luck in your search - you won't regret it.

                                Hi Dixon,

You're doing fantastic! The only thing I would caution on is to make quitting alcohol contingent on another event. It really should be turned around - quitting alcohol will allow me to find a flexible job. Getting alcohol out of our lives has to come first and then everything else can fall into place. You're doing everything right Dixon. Keep it up!
2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.
