Dear DG,
I'm so sorry I was MIA yesterday but hope i"m not too late to the party!!

I have so much I want to say to you, so much to thank you for but this isn't the place for a novel.

Suffice to say that you are one of the most important people in my life and a key player as I found my way out. You were the first to welcome me here and you never left. You were always there to hold my hand when I needed it and like wise kick my arse. You are a beautiful person and a legend here. I'm so happy to share your special day with you.

Revel in the congrats and good wishes but don't forget to water your new garden!!

I remember you so well going right back to 2007- once that switch went down in May 2008 you literally did change your life around & you are an inspiration to all of us here. Congratulations on four AF years a marvelous achievement.

We started out at much the same time but I only managed 8 months sober. I now find myself at 50 years old, 30 pounds overweight and a daily drunk. Self sabotaging at every step. I have an exam for my masters in a few hours and have yet to start revising.

However seeing this thread the first time I have logged on in 5 months has reminded me how different things can be. So I will go back and read your story again, make a plan, set a date and start to turn my life around.

You really are awesome.
