Evening army still warm and sunny here. I had a nap for about 2 hrs and got up at one. Didn't do much thiis afternoon except sit in the garden read and listen to the radio and played cds. I'm not complaing about the weather but it has made me tired the past two days. Pingu enjoy your weekend i hope all goes well for you. Reccie i know how it is with the demon drink i've stopped and started so many times but don't give up hun we're all here for you. Just starting to get in to summer clothes and today i put my bikiini on for the first time. Not a great sight with my flabby body wodgy tum and pasty skin :H Only in my back garden not for the beach yet. Got a bit of colour tho from being in the garden all week. Just watchin corrie. JC i went shopping early this morning to avoid the heat and queques. The forecast is good for the rest of the week. I bought a book in a charity shop last tuesday called eat pray love by Eilizabeth Gilbert just starting it. It was on Oprah's book club 3 yrs ago when it first came out and it was made into a movie with Julia Roberts which got bad reviews. Anyone read it? Its ok so far so i'll keep reading on. Only cost me a euro lol.

I will think some more on your computer problem and PM you about it, probably tomorrow. Have you got one or two languages installed on your laptop?
Reccie, I don't know. I'd have to ask my older son. He's the one who installed the programmes. Don't worry yourself about it. It's something I can work around.
Wine better than whiskey. Beer better than wine. You'll get past this. I just know you will.

I do want to take the eldest one for another driving lesson. He's quite good at it.
Ah, driving lessons. Mr. Stirly didn't have enough patience to teach our boys to drive so guess who got to teach them? And they are ace drivers, both of them. Not praising myself - they were good students. I learned how to drive from my Dad, who taught me to drive on snowy roads and to parallel park with just one maneuver.

Aloha from the (NOT) sub-tropical earthquake zone of Christchurch, NZ...it's Saturday morning here, am at my lappy in my dressinggown with cuppa, all warm and cosy - NO WORK!!
We had a 5.2 yesterday afrternoon - the RED Zone (earthquake zone from feb 11 huge quake) had to be closed off, it was a grim reminder of EVERYTHING we have been through and could happen again.
I'm quite worried, and many of us here are, as they are saying there's more to come....we have had over 10,000 since september '10, when they all kicked off, and it doesn't get any easier.
SIGH! I don't really talk about them much on here, but it has been soooooo huge - a life changing thing in many ways - for start is it what got me to stay sober - so it's a weird kind of blessing......
Anyhoo - it IS the weekend now, so I will try and relax and enjoy....
Hope everyone is tucked in on their Northern Friday night, after a gorgeous AF day
Lady Jan - I see at the beginning of the thread you are looking forward to your first love coming for a visit...that sounds just lovely, but do be careful darling, it's first loves that would get me in the mood for "just a bottle of good wine".....if you know what I mean...Great to see you tho - just take care x x

Yes indeed, we all just freeze (all the 'under a desk' etc learnings just go out the window EVERY time :H) and look at other peoples eyes whilst frozen and basically just WAIT for it to hopefully stop.
The February last year one, where 180-odd people lost their lives, was absolute insanity. I was in the city when in struck - the epi-centre, and saw two people dy-ING and more already dead. It was a life changing experience for sure. I just know that it has certainly made me the sober person I am today, so that is something.....Zen, there aren't many options really, I can't afford to shift and just leave it all behind, plus the majority of my family are here, so we just hang in there and hope the next one doesn't wipe more good folk out...crazy huh...
How's your family, Zen?

What do you think Kapo? Do you think you should maybe move? I know it's horrid to leave your home but, maybe it's not a bad idea...
:thanks:
