Oh undies I need your help. I need a killer shrimp recipe. I make a GREAT scampi, but it's the only thing I make with shrimp. There are a gazillion recipes on the net but I want something you were excited about. Something that your family or guests thought was remarkable. If all else fails, I'll have it catered by Wildfish in Scottsdale but hopefully I can avoid that. Thanks!!!

Techie I'm not even sure that I know what scampi is, so I'll leave the answer to your question to someone with superior knowledge!

I heard that too - but think Reggie is still in Tassie????

TF - that looks great! What is the name of the "thing"? I want one.

Ok, here are my pie pictures. As you can tell, I'm a very messy cook and presentation is not my forte!!

Wally and Tawny..my Great Auntie and Uncle owned/operated a bake shop and live atop it when I was about 7 or so... I loved the smells and I don't think I've ever appreciated a sticky bun as much...actually I know I haven't . And they lived above it with a terrace! Smokin place to visit.

Hi again Undies. Thanks for the responses about the flowers. Yep, passion fruit flower. Bridget - I can't give you any more details about the other flowers than I already did. Low to the ground with very long, shooting stems. And the flowers close up at night.

Techie - I posted this on Oney's Eat Right thread a couple of weeks ago. You might like to give this a try. It's easy-peasy and tres delish.

It's not my recipe. It's the recipe of a woman who had a cooking segment on several of the morning shows here. I followed her religiously and tried many of her recipes. Good, home cooked food is what she does and man, does she do it well. She has a restaurant here in Athens and one on the island of Paros as well. Her name is Argiro Barbarigou. Oh Reccie - guess what I found. I just now looked her up and she has a site in English and her recipes are there. So now any of you can look at her recipes and try them if you think there's something you might like. inkele: Here's the link.... http://www.argiro.com.gr/about

This is one of her recipes that is to die for. I saw that you had prawns today so I bet you will like this. I translated this some time ago so I could share it with my sister. Here it is...

                SHRIMP ?SAGANAKI?

                (2 servings)
                12-14 fresh or fresh-frozen shrimp #4 size
1/2 medium-size green bell pepper, seeds removed, thinly sliced
                1 small onion thinly sliced
                4 tbsp. olive oil
1 can (400 gr.) peeled and chopped tomatoes
1 large clove of garlic finely chopped or ? tsp. garlic powder
                2 shakes cayenne (hot) pepper
2 large pieces of feta, crumpled or broken into pieces
little chopped parsley if desired (I didn?t use it but another recipe does)
fry pan big enough to hold all the shrimp in one layer.

Remove the ?whiskers? and legs of the shrimp but not the shells, and place on paper toweling to dry. Slice pepper and onion, chop garlic. Heat oil in a fry pan. When it is hot, add the shrimp. Cook 30 seconds on each side and remove to paper toweling to drain. Add the pepper and onion to the oil. Saute for a couple of minutes and then add the tomatoes, garlic and cayenne pepper. Cook covered about 10 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook 4 minutes on each side. Be careful the sauce doesn?t get too thick. If it does, just add a little water. If it is too watery, cook uncovered. After the shrimp are cooked, remove from heat, sprinkle the feta on top, put the lid on again and wait 30 seconds or so until the feta has softened. Serve over plain cooked, buttered rice. You could serve it with any kind of pasta too, I expect. We really enjoyed it with rice.

                Missy, love your smiling pie!!

:goodjob: Tawny on the bread. I bet it tastes great!

Undies - hope you're all enjoying your day. Orf to walk the dogger......

Except you can't see it as Photobucket keeps telling me I've failed in the action I was attempting.... which was to try to open photobucket in the first place.

Rags - both Missy and I had probs with PB ... try again in the morning.

I'm declaring an early hori. I have to remind myself of a (I think) Nora quote which goes along the lines of "I don't have to attend every argument I'm invited to".
