Back in March I was invited to an Engagement party. Declined but sent $200. Apparently it was a top party - the daddy of the bride coughed up close to 10grand. Just got the news that the.engagement.is.off.

neither - one involved wrapping the said egg in glad wrap and suspending in a gently rolling boil (and no, the glad wrap doesn't melt, but there were better results with basting a little melted butter onto the glad wrap first!).
The second, which I am keen to try, is apparently the officially approved Michelin method, which involves dropping the raw egg from height into a deep pan of boiling water. Apparently gravity does its thing, and you end up with one of those beautifully formed poached eggs that is soft in the middle, but with a firm white on the outside
Anyway, I was very happy with my eggs, if not with the hollandaise
I als learned that when you are wilting spinach, you don't really need any water at all - we just wilted the spinach in the saucepan that had previously had the butter that went into the hollandaise.
Tell me about the vortex Tawny???? !!Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Hello Undies,
Just reading back.
Hmmm the moral quandry. If she is as described, I'd do like Missy did... take him out for a coffee and tell him.
Mr Rags is taking me out to dinner tonight, so logging off.
Just got back from seeing FIL. He doesn't look too bad considering everything, but very weak.
Missy, how did you poach your eggs?
See you all tomorrow.

Hiya LPC.
Interesting Missy. My first relationship a very long time ago was with a bit of a turd. Again, some very close friends of mine knew that he was cheating and said nothing.
I lost a great deal of trust out of that little experience, and it definitely shaped relationships to come.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Live and let live is fine. I can work with them and be neighbors with them and do business with them. But don't ask me to be friends with them or to cover up up for them or listen to their opinions or prejudices.
Bridgeypoos I know you are in a lose lose situation here but for what it is worth I would tell the poor bloke, he deserves to know. Maybe he already knows and is accepting of it or maybe his whole world is about to come crashing down. Either ways you have two choices, if he is your friend then tell him, if he is not then just cut all ties with them both and let them get on with it as your relationship with her is already soured.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
