Years ago I was the accountant for a bakery. We had proofing lines that circled the ceiling and came back down.
Our plant manager would make rustic country bread (that was to die for) when he was pissed off!!! It was his form of therapy. And he would always bring me a loaf. He and I both loved herb breads!!
We had to hose the factory down with steam hoses to kill the wild yeast that grew on the walls. I had never heard of wild yeast before. I had never heard of proofing lines either. Our oven was so long that you put the dough in one end and by the time it came out the other it was a loaf of bread. We couldn't have carpets in the offices, because they adjoined the factory and they had to be cleaned thoroughly each day as well. The smell was WONDERFUL. I was headhunted by another firm and although I didn't miss the pressure of the job, I sure did miss the benefits!

I used to love visiting a friend who had an apartment directly above a bakery. I thought the smell was fantastic but he hated it because he could never get away from it.

Now hello Wally and all who have passed through. I am just very busy and important for a few days and can't really focus here. But this time I really AM busy I don't like it.


Stirly, defo a passionfruit second photo. Aren't they absolulely amazing? I'd grow them for ornamental value, but the understock gets away in this part of the world, the banana passionfruit part of the graft, and becomes an environmental weed. Now the first one...I have never seen in my life...it's astonishing and if you can get any more details I would LOVE to know what it is....you're in Greece if memory serves???
