I THROB my new knives. Ordered them yesterday morning, here overnight, and at an excellent price. Shazzam....
Now I'm going to bore everyone shitless with knife talk as well as pan talk. Consider yourselves duly warned.
Knives..... The black handled ones are Mr Rags' except for the three Japanese ones which are mine.

The Buck knife I've had since 1981. Techie would love it. I have another Buck knife.. a fine blade boning knife. Took them everywhere when I went bushwalking and camping. They're now part of my kitchen itinerary.

    Bought in Japan.

And a bit of fun. From Victoria's Basement... they match the window sill .

Oh Rags look at this...my favorite :l

YAY! It fits. You look your wonderful self Techie. And I notice no food stains down the front. It's a lovely soft material isn't it. And have you noticed it doesn't crease? Or get smelly under the armpits.

Can hardly wait to use them. Undies, if you spot them, buy them.

I've got the orange one Rags, it's great. The green is just a straight peeler? What does the other one do? Where did you get them?

They are beautiful. Love the squirrel shots. And thet deer is so beautiful.

Unfortunately deer are a huge problem where I live and they are vermin. A bit like possums in New Zealand, or our Melaleuca quinquenervia in Florida wetlands.

Got them at wollongong markets. I can go there next Friday and get you a set if you'd like?
The green one peels very fine. It did the pumpkin with no effort at all.

The red one has very very fine saw teeth on it and peeled a kiwi fruit and tomatoes... brilliant.

Sorry, the piccies are a bit small. I'll redo them..

Packed with my checked in baggage. No problem.

Being folded steel they are exquisitely sharp and keep their edge longer, but I am dreading when I have to take them to get sharpened. My butcher where I used to live used to sharpen my knives for me. I might go down there sometime and ask if he would please sharpen them for me. I've never quite learnt the knack of getting the angle the same on both sides when I sharpen knives with a steel. (I get the feeling Techie or Tippy would though.) And I'm sure as hell not going to pull them through my knife sharpener.

Or, buy a Buck boning knife... it slices beautifully.

That would go well with the dessicated coconut!
