    Weight Loss Support Thread!!!

I'm 45 so not much age difference! I like SC-- just not Greenville-- maybe it was the job I had there though. In terms of weather-- ours is about the same as I am in Atlanta. I am going for 40 lbs

Thanks for starting this LG. I'm in.

I'm 46 and I'm not sure what I want to lose. I was always really lithe pre excess booze but don't want to be too skinny. Doesn't look so great when you're older! I'll know when I get there. I reckon it's about 20lbs. Will go in increments though so starting goal is 7lbs. Will have Monday as weigh in day too.

        Weight Loss Support Thread!!!

Oh, and I so excited about this thread! I am 43 and desperately need to lose about 40 pounds. I just started Weight Watchers, and I'm starting a fitness boot camp in two weeks. Stopping drinking is completely necessary to meet my weight loss goal - each drink is four freakin' points!!

I go to my first weigh-in tomorrow, but last I checked I was 169 lbs.

By the way, I like the idea of weighing in here on Mondays.

Hey LG.....count me in!!!!! I am 42 and want to lose 22 lbs. I am signing up for WW on-line...I was going to do it tonight but the internet has been screwy so I will do it first thing in the morning. Weight Loss Support Thread!!!

                Hi,

I'm in too. I've stacked on the weight since I quit smoking a year + ago and realised I've just technically inched into the overweight category in the healthy weight chart by WW compared to where I was previously - comfortably in the middle of the healthy weight range. So, my goal is that WW classic of losing around 10% of my body weight, or 5-6 kilos, which is around 12 pounds though I'm going to be charting it in kilos just to add some metric confusion fun here

As of this morning I weighed in at 61.8 kilos (136 pounds), bearing in mind I'm quite short. My goal is 56 kilos (123 pounds). I'm tracking calories with My Fitness First and planning on trying to loosely follow a low GI/low carbs/more protein diet with lots of fruit and veg and lots of exercise at the gym - something I'm not always great at doing.

Checking in with progress here can only help!

                L :goodjob:

                  Weight Loss Support Thread!!!

I'm going to my first Weight Watchers weigh-in this morning. Really excited about getting these extra pounds off. I know the only way I can do this is to stop putting all those empty calories from alcohol down my throat. Oh, and the late-night snacks after drinking have to go too.

I think I've really made the connection between alcohol and weight gain now. I mean, we all know alcohol does more harm that just make you gain weight, but it's a huge factor for me! I'm hoping that finally making this connection will be just what I needed to put this commitment in stone. So far so good!!

                  Will check in later!!

                    Weight Loss Support Thread!!!

I know what your mean rooni. One of the impetus for my quit was weight. I know AL was not solely responsible for the 60 lbs I've gained, but I also know that I couldn't lose while drinking like I was.

Welcome Lily! I wish I was at 136 lbs, lol. I'm quite short too! What do you consider short? I'm 5'4. Sounds like you have a handle on it, and I think you're well on the way to losing the amount you want.

I'm still down 3 lbs this morning, and glad. I resisted junk food yesterday, although bf got McDonald's while we were out. Truthfully, I don't really like it, but it smelled so good (and gross at the same time, lol). He is slim and never even thought about his weight. I told him my goal was to be smaller than he is, hee hee. He weighs 158 (in clothes) and 6 ft. He said, that's nice.:H

                      Weight Loss Support Thread!!!

So I went to my WW meeting this morning and weighed in at 170. My goal weight is 128, so I've got quite a ways to go. Lots of people spoke up about eating habits, why they had grained weight, what they were doing to lose weight, etc. Funny how none of them mentioned alcohol. The whole time I was sitting there, I was thinking how much alcohol had such an important role in my weight gain over the last few years. I mean, sure, I can't blame it ALL on alcohol, but it has been a huge factor - the empty calories, the late-night drunk snacks, the greasy hangover food, the lack of exercise due to being hungover, etc. Yes, I can blame a good portion of my weight gain on alcohol.

Well, I know one thing. If I go over my points today, it won't be because of alcohol!!

LillyE...Okay...136 lbs....what are you....3 feet tall?! HeeHee Just kidding! I did the same thing...this July will be my 2 year mark of not smoking and I replaced the nicotine with food and vodka...I thought it was an even trade.....NOT!

Rooni...I signed op for the on-line WW last night....they were having a special so I grabbed it. I am allowed 26 points per day and 49 bonus points per week. Of course my sick vodka pickled brain was like..."OK....Rooni says a drink is 4 points...So I can do 10 drinks in 1 night and still stay within my points range." Then I realized that I am 12 days AF and don't have to think like that anymore and it was such a relief! I need to get one of those points plus calculators so I can take it to the grocery store...it will make life easier!

Because I am juicing a lot now my girlfriend sends me these "nutrition, juicing" links and there is one gentleman , drew canole who recommends the easiest weight loss trick is to simply drnk a glass of water immediately when u wake up....no coffee or tea or juice first. He says this will get your metabolism humming...I am doing this as its easy and I agree it makes me feel better in the morning.
Anyway, wanted to pass that along. Probably should put it in the weight loss thread !
